To expand on that, if the Lakers traded Pau to Chicago they'd likely get Booz and Deng. You'd have Deng, MWP, Ebanks, and Beasley all vying for time at the 3.

If Bynum keeps up his 18/13/2 and Gasol continues with his 17/11/3 with an improved bench, i don't see the WCF as far fetched for this squad.

I just don't trust this SA squad, just like all of their teams since 2008. IMO they don't have enough to beat the lakers in a 7 game series

They definitely have the potential. I like the trade because:

- Lakers improve their PG athleticism and subsequently their defense
- Lakers add a bench scorer who is relatively efficient
- Lakers' big 3 remains intact

I would have preferred a wing scorer over Beasley, but this is a pretty good upgrade all things considered. Hopefully the front office doesn't ship Pau, unless they line up something for Dwight, of course.

I'm not really sure Beasley is even "relatively efficient."

He's a career 46%/36%/76% shooter. Those are pretty good numbers.

Yea that's fair. His TS% at 51% isn't exactly stellar, but I suppose if you're using him simply as a bench scorer, then yea that could work. Just try to limit what you let him do.

The inevitable question is "Can playing for the Lakers turn Beasley's career around?"

-Also how long before someone in the media suggests bringing in James Worthy to work with Beasley?

I always thought that a player could have a pretty profound turnaround under Phil, but Mike Brown is a puppet.

It'll be a 1st in the 20's.

He's going to opt out after this year anyway.

I don't necessiarly argee with this. Is he Phil Jackson? No. Is he great with offensive Xs and Os? no. He does come from the Spurs coaching tree, so he doesn't strike me as a puppet. When I think of puppet, I think of Byron Scott.

Steve Blake

He has been a joke with the Lakers, he was never particularly good but he was never flat out bad, which he has been with the Lakers

I guess this deal bottomed out. Read that the league allowed the teams involved to go past the deadline, but looks like no news coming out.
