I'm just saying, let's not act like Mir doesn't talk mad shite pre-fight.

They ALL do this shite. Exception maybe Dan Henderson, but at the same time he tried to decapitate someone who he knew was already unconscious.

I would say that's a bit much. Watching him on the TUF 9 show he came off as a douche but never came up to the level as what Tito Ortiz, Ken Shamrock, Matt Serra, Melvin Guillard, Chris Leban and a few others have acted like.

Most fighters do what Mir does (hype fight and be confident). I had no problems what Brock said pre-fight. Brock after the fight was a different animal. There's nothing Mir did atha is remotely close to that.

I think this sums it up for a lot of MMA fans. Dana even agreed and didn't pay Lesner his win bonus.

Dana, Frank Fertitta and Lorenzo Fertitta don't play that crap because they have worked way to hard to let some dude come and ruin it for them.

Big deal. He still got $400,000.00 which was the same as GSP including his win bonus.

PUHLEEZ! Dana's average tirades are far more damaging than anything Lesnar did in the octagon on Saturday. I'd be willing to bet that the only thing they truly disagreed with was the dissing of a major sponsor.

Wrong...Danas "tirades" do nothing but help draw more hype.

What the hell do you think that Lesnar's comments are going to do?

No. 2 - Dana has never staired into the faces of his fans and distrespected them.

No. 3 You are right about the sponsor.

He has to get fined for that right?

They need to. I didn't have a problem with it until he said he knew he was out. It looked like he did it with natural instinct. Just in the heat of the moment type deal but he said he was aware he was already unconscous. So I think he has to be fined.
That one thing is the biggest thing that is setting the sport back, that and the Chris Lytle vs. Josh Koschek type fights.

He has also never been booed by the fans after dismantling(sp?) a fighter that had a previous fluky victory over him. No, he saves his profanity laced tirades for homos, female reporters and fighters who don't fit his exact criteria.

I know. But thanks for your approval.

Mir started out the round strongly, but slipped and allowed Lesnar to ground him in a bad way and pound on him.

I've been thinking about Mir's strong performance at the beginning of that round and I think Lesnar's entire strategy was to look for the take down so he wasn't really interested in exchanging while standing.

Can any gurus point to technique used by Lesnar in his stand-up and ground game showing he is, in fact, the real deal? Perhaps a highlight or summary of what he did right and wrong?

He got Mir onto the ground and immediately went chest to chest with him. If you keep your chest on your opponent's it keeps him from shifting his weight, effectively stopping any submission. That was the difference. He kept control of Mir's head basically the entire time they were on the ground and blocked out his arm a lot. When Mir was up against the cage LEsnar played it perfectly by catching Mir's wrist and making him expose his head.

no i put them all together with Bisbing and Penn added to the list. Leben has actually calmed down a little and so has Guillard. Both are youngs guys also, so i can expect them to be a little immature. Serra is less vocal version of Baroni, except when it comes to Hughes.

We had a huge debate on this Saturday after the fight. I felt the same way. It would have been different had he said he didn't know he was out. But when he said he knew it and did the 2nd hit to shut him up, that was shitty. Bren and I have not agreed on this one yet. I understand the adrenaline and listening to the shite talking all season but still no reason to take it that far. Be the bigger person in the situation. What would have happened had he seriously injured him/ended Bispings career? Would you still brag that you just shut him up?

i'm gonna have to go with your significant other on this one. You fight till you're told to stop. I really don't think he meant it seriously when he said the second one was to shut him up. If you go back and watch the post fight interview it just seemed to me as he was jokingly saying that's why he did it. When you're in a situation like that and have been told you're whole career to keep going until the ref stops you, it's hard to not hit someone and hold back.

Yeah you are right, someone who calls out a top tier sponser because they didn't pay him could
care less about another 100 grand in win bonus.

You can bet that not getting the win bonus made Lesner mad and he will never forget he left money on the table for running his mouth and pissing off fans and sponsers who actually provide the funds for him to get paid.

This is true. He has openly said he doesnt care about the martial arts aspects or any of that BS...he is a "prize fighter"! He does it for the money...the way it should be done. No doubt losing 100k pisses him off!
