I'm pretty sure all of the U of L system schools had/have the option to change their name to the University of Louisiana at (insert city).
Would ULL fans that say "who cares, just call us what we want to be called" have the same opinion if SLU decided that it wanted to brand itself as the University of Louisiana?

ULL is the correct reference.
Do these idiots realize UL is University of Louisville. No one outside of Louisiana gives enough of a frick about Lafayette to listen to what they want to call themselves

I want the Cajuns to succeed just as much as the next guy, but I hope ESPN drops the hammer on them for drama purposes. I want to see HUD go all Rambo on the national media for ignoring the Cajuns.

I refer to ULL, when in the state of Louisiana, especially in the southern part, as UL. People from here will know, and do know, what the frick I am talking about. If I am out of state I say ULL.
ULL just sounds weird to me. It doesn't have the same ring as ULM.
I'd honestly be fine with USL, because it would at least give a distinctive name without making it a pain to say. Some people in here are making way too big a deal out of this shite though. If you are from Louisiana and bitch about people saying UL, you're a fricking idiot.

I don't think I have ever seen affliction worn around campus. That "joke" is really getting old. You must hang out at Nite Town a lot, and obviously don't go to any of the good bars in Lafayette. I'm guessing you're trashy.
