first of all, i was not being serious as to the reasoning and was only pointing out error in the thinking of others.
2nd of all, yes they definitely could have, and there's not anything anyone can say to prove otherwise since it is an insane hypothetical that could never be proved.

yes it can never be proved but basic basketball knowledge and common sense would say that team wouldn't finish 5th in this years big east

well yeah but they could. it was simply to prove that saying marquette could win the pac 10 so you're picking them is stupid.
