dead serious

he has a better chance of getting to 100 than he does of not getting to 83.

just not sure why you would think he won't win 10 more times? injury?

Barring catastrophic injury he will pass Snead. If he only plays five more years full time, and I think he'll play longer than thwt, he'd only have to win 2 times a year to get there.

He already has 2 this year and the season is barely half way through.

That shot was unbelievable.
When Jack says it was one of the best shots he'd ever seen, it's a pretty good shot.

Yeah CBS really harped on that comment (rightfully so). Jack reiterated it in the press conference following the tournament.

I wonder how hard that shot really was. Like what was a good result from there. 3-5 feet or more like 10-15 feet.

Under the circumstances I'd say the latter. I think that is what Nicklaus was saying. I wonder how many people will now drop a ball and try that shot when they're playing that course. I know I would.

The majority of players in the field wouldn't even had the balls to try that shot. It would have been chip to 15 feet, try to make a putt. Most would've left that in the rough in front of them, or possibly ran it right into the water. He had a landing area that was miniscule.
But that's why Tiger and Phil win a lot. 2nd place means nothing. They're playing to win the golf tournament. (Also helps when you have $100 million in the bank)

Well if you watch where the ball landed, it was just a few inches onto the green, a few inches shorter and he still has another chip just for par, if he lands it a few inches longer it could have easily rolled 10 feet or so past the hole, it was on a pretty sever downslope.
The margin for error was definitely slim to none.
