frick Troy Smith. Him winning the Heisman was such a fricking joke.
Yeah I'm mad.

Rams make a lot of sense, he projected to be a situational DE and the Rams have 4 starters that are beasts. Sam will be a good rotational player there.

See James Wright drafted in the 7th Round with 0 catches last year.
sounds Like Sam ended up exactly where he belonged then...

Prove it. Prove that Sam wasn't beating opposing offensive linemen to get his tfls and sacks.
His junior year #s <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< his senior

Generally, he's going to be competing with OL that jumped less than 30".
That outweigh him by 100 lbs, have the same speed, longer arms, and are stronger. the jump shows EXPLOSIVENESS which someone at his size needs....he doesnt have it.

I was comparing the SIZE because you said:
quote:
The only way at his size he sees the field is at an OLB position
because of the Rams D-line. good god man, context. he was drafted by the rams.

I think you're a little premature with your certitude, but you may be right. We'll see.
He's gone by cut 2 in camp.

Combine says 25.5".
Real numbers.
You guys want to act like Pro Day numbers aren't real numbers. I don't know how to respond to that. It's bizarre. There are lots of players that are affected every year by Pro Day numbers. If you're going to argue that they're not real numbers, there's really no use discussing this further.

I don't know what you're talking about. You said:
quote:
Teams use the combine #s
I cited James Wright as one example of a player being affected by Pro Day #s.
quote:
His junior year #s <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< his senior
Insufficient argument. That could be said about countless players.

The point is - a jump of 30"+ is not bad for a player at his size. It's not elite, but there's a lot of middle ground between elite and no explosiveness. Rueben Randle jumped 31" at the 2012 Combine and Pro Day.

You were specifically talking about size. I think you know you're being redundant with the last sentence.

A 7th round pick who was an excellent college player thinks he should have been drafted earlier?
I'm shocked
Not just higher, but "like Clowney".

he says he feels like Clowney. not that he should have been #1.
But he is gay so lets forget about hyperbole, or that getting drafted at all is something every player is proud of.

, Clowney first straight guy drafted and he was the first gay man drafted

He should've kept his mouth shut about liking penis until after the draft then.

This. I don't really give a shite about the social implications of all that's been going on, but from a football standpoint he is going to have a helluva time making that team. The Rams are stacked on defense.
