I thought LSU would be widely recognized. But when I first moved to Socal I was wearing an LSU shirt in the grocery store and had the guy working the check out counter ask if LSU stood for "Lakers State". Of course, he was high as shite. But I've had other people out here ask me what LSU stood for, and it still surprises me.
