CNN will be running specials on her weekly.
Count on it.

Like the sun rising in the morning, sure enough I've seen CNN tweeting about her. Not bothering linking their filth.

Any way to see less of her is a good thing.

She is going to be the face of the Olympics and I guarantee you her first interview post-RG will be some softball fest from a Costas like Reporter at the games.

Steph is actually woke AF; he's just not as loudmouthed as LeChina. Steph parrots the same things that every other NPC professional athlete does. I love Steph Curry, but he's no different from the rest of them.

Naomi Osaka net worth and Career Earnings: Naomi Osaka is a Japanese American professional tennis player who has a net worth of $25 million. After bursting on the scene in 2018, within two short years Naomi rocketed to being the highest-paid female athletes in the world. She achieved that feat after earning approximately $40 million between June 2019 and June 2020. She out-earned the previous long-standing highest-paid female athlete, Serena Williams, by $5 million.

frick that entitled dumb bitch. Boohoo she can't talk to the media! I hope her career gets derailed somehow.

Where did I say it was a problem? She couldn't meet the requirements and left. Her prerogative.

Given that time moves forward, it's just odd to suggest, as you did, that she do something she has already done.

Whose rule is that and what are the limits on that rule? People pull out of tournaments for injury all the time. What this comes down to is that you don't believe that her mental health is enough of a reason to pull out of tournament. Which is fine, I guess. It's just probably why she wouldn't ever listen to a person like you.

They shouldn't have to change their rules because of one player
Why do you say this? I mean, there is nothing set in stone that says they should HAVE to by definition. But it's a (mostly) free market. If one player accumulates enough cred/gravitas/political capital, a tournament might absolutely have to change their rules for one player. I don't know if that applies to Osaka here or not, but it's bizarre to act as if a tournament is some a priori fact of human existence and not just a social construct that is vulnerable to all the pressures any other person, organization or institution might be.

It seems like you're implying that she's bigger than the tournament. She's not.
She certainly might be. Lots of quotes coming out from official tennis orgs basically laying the groundwork to make changes based on the "issues" she has highlighted.
quote:

French tennis federation president Gilles Moretton, All England Club chairman Ian Hewitt, U.S. Tennis Association president Mike McNulty and Tennis Australia president Jayne Hrdlicka pledged to work with players, the tours and media "to improve the player experience at our tournaments" while making sure the athletes all are on a "fair playing field, regardless of ranking or status."

In a separate statement issued Tuesday to the AP via email, International Tennis Federation official Heather Bowler said the sport will "review what needs to evolve" after Osaka "shone a light on mental health issues."

I can't help but feel this will serve as the primary catalyst that drives the sports media/journalism world to change as we know it. More & more players will see this as an opportunity to use the mental health card to refuse media obligations. The media will have no choice but to honor their wishes. So now a greater premium & negotiating power is placed into Agents' laps to work on more earnings potential for their clients.
I will not he surprised to see small collections of specific sports writers having access to players now instead of every Joe Schmo with a recording device + media pass.

Michael Jordan took two years off in his prime because of mental health issues. Flat quit his job to take up a childhood hobby because he was going through some things.

He stopped playing because he was physically beaten up and needed a break from the game. And he also genuinely wanted to attempt something differently with his career. He also never cited mental health as his lie.

You're right, I think "social anxiety" is mostly made-up bullshite for people who are too weak-minded to deal with societal interactions.

We don't know each other and I never said anything that suggested she should listen to me.

She's not a likeable girl, her attitude sucks and I think she used mental health as a convenient excuse to avoid scrutiny and then quit like an angry toddler.

Medical professionals, people who know what they're talking about, disagree with you. But I have no inclination to reason you out of an impulse that you've reasoned yourself into., so...

There is definitely a certain class of man who would necessarily find her unlikeable. Is what it is. Objectively though, lots of people like her.

No. That's just something you made up. There is no indication that he had any particular physical problems within 8 years of his first retirement. The way he described it was he simply lost his desire to play and his intent was to not play again.

“I told [Bulls coach Phil Jackson], you know, I’m about here. I was done.” “I have no motivation.”
- Michael Jordan

Ask yourself why you feel the need to make this up.
