Why are the Kings so fine with getting rid of Thomas? Who is their point guard?

I think they eventually end up with Rondo

So Cleveland wants to make sure their starting 5 has no defense. Irving and Hayward are terrible defenders.

That would make sense with getting Smith. Also the Celtics re-signing Bradley seems to make one of their guards expendable and I don't think Smart is going anywhere

Whose would be worse: Cleveland if they get Hayward vs. Houston if they get Carmelo?

Howard may foul out of half of their games with all the guys blowing past Harden and Anthony

Wiggins will be so great defensively, he's going to steal every ball and block every shot.

Joking aside, from an athletic standpoint, they have the talent to become a good defensive team. A good coach can make average defensive players into a good defensive team. Whether Blatt is that guy remains to be seen.

Greg Monroe reportedly wants to see Smith get traded

It will be interesting to see if this actually has legs...Zach Lowe floated it out there that Monroe is going to sign his qualifying offer if they don't get rid of Smith, so now this story is starting to take off. It was reported yesterday the Pistons made an offer to Thomas already.

• The Cleveland Cavaliers are preparing a maximum offer sheet for swingman Gordon Hayward, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. He's meeting with the team on Tuesday, as reported by Yahoo Sports, and a contract that lucrative would put the Utah Jazz in a tough position. They'd obviously rather he didn't leave for nothing, but is it really worthy investing that much money in him? You'd think they'd at least consider sign-and-trade scenarios.

Kyle Lowry is reportedly weighing an offer from the Toronto Raptors for four years and $44 million. They might up it to five years and $55 million. That sounds about right.

Avery Bradley accepted a four-year, $32 million offer from the Boston Celtics, who clearly didn't want to risk someone offering more in restricted free agency. Not sure how likely that would've been, but Bradley is young, improving and already a great defender.

• The Orlando Magic agreed to a contract with Ben Gordon for two years and $9 million, which sounds kind of crazy. The second year isn't guaranteed, though, and it's not that's going to restrict what Orlando does this summer. You don't have to freak out about it.

• The Indiana Pacers and Damjan Rudez reached an agreement on a three-year deal. Indiana's offense needs a lot of work, and Rudez can help with floor spacing.

Lance Stephenson is having "trouble finding leverage on the Pacers," according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

• The Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs are interested in Pau Gasol, which makes sense, but the big man is "still pushing for a $10 million-$12 million annual salary," according to Yahoo Sports. That figure might need to drop.

Miami looks like they will miss out on all the young guys they were looking to bring in. Wonder what the chances are that all 3 of the Big 3 move on if Riley is only able to bring in old guys like Marion or Carter.

They're both double digit scorers. Plus Marion did play for the Heat once before.

In an interview with 92.9 FM ESPN Monday afternoon, the 34-year-old said his first choice is to remain in Memphis.

I'm just afraid of over paying him considering the amount of money a guy like Jodie Meeks just went for.

He's got a good relationship with Joerger. His family has moved back into the house they had here before he left a couple years ago and apparently they don't want to move again. Plus resigning Zbo helped.

KD tried his arse off to recruit him last offseason.

Good. Let's get that price tag to go down a little and get the Mavs interested please

@SamAmicoFSO: Talk around NBA is Heat plan on luring free agents other than own not coming together. Also told reported $$ on Bosh and Wade is incorrect.

@SamAmicoFSO: Heat's Chris Bosh actually seeking deal worth $16-18 million per, source says. Hearing 5 years/$90 million, but told deal not done.

as the cookie begins to crumble...

frick it. pay all 4 what they want (wade, bosh, LBJ, Haslem)

Starting 5:
Napier
Wade
LBJ
Bosh
Haslem

Bench:
......

even with 4 players on the court half the season (Wade), they still make the top 8 teams in the shitty East.

A Mike Miller-type player is the only thing missing from OKC to get them over the championship hump.

That's pretty huge IMO.
