I don't think it changed much for either.
JR was already the projected #1 pick at that point. He was the best QB in CFB in 2006 and had god-tier tools.
Quinn was always overhyped as a pro prospect by the CFB media b/c he was a good QB at a somewhat revived ND.

This just isn't true.
JR failed in the NFL because of a combination of things. One of the worst NFL situations for a #1 pick in terms of coach/ownership/infrastructure. He had maturity issues which were exacerbated by the situation + his uncle Ray Ray dying. He became a full blown addict after that. It was just a series of things.
All of the things that caused him to be such a failure were non-football issues. It's just that in the NFL, you have to be fully dialed in to be decent at QB, and completely obsessive to be great. He was basically non-attentive and that's why he busted so hard.
