The Buffalo Sabres have a verbal agreement in place to trade forward Ryan O’Reilly to an unspecified team (believed to be St. Louis).
The trade is expected to be announced after July 1st when O’Reilly’s bonuses are due.
This trade will either be amazing for the blues, or hurt the blues badly.

[LeBrun] One thing to keep in mind, by the way, is that if Tavares decides he wants to stay put, he needs to sign with the Isles by Saturday at midnight to get an 8-year deal otherwise can only sign for 7 years with the Isles, like any other team, as of Sunday, July 1

After they moved Sheary to Buffalo, I thought they might be making a play for Karlsson, but thankfully, the Penguins are throwing $3 million AAV at a pylon. I don't know how this helps them. Johnson's been pretty bad recently.
