As a Cajun fan, I know that ragin pagin can go overboard at times. But it's not like the rant is much different at times, especially on gamedays in the fall.

ULL isn't small (enrollment of 18,000) and it's not regional (per the U.S. News definition).

I don't care about the name issue at all. But some of you have no idea you're talking about.

My post was just poking fun of the comment it is in response to and how UL-L fans hold the regional portion of their university's name in contempt (generalized statement). It was not a serious comment about the actual stature or size of the university itself. ULL is a very decent school, and it has a pretty good sized student population (which is in no way a reference to the 2005 Club Industry article that ranked UL-Laffayette the 'fattest' college in America).

Instead of making himself look weak in the eyes of his supporters and critics alike, is named the school after himself. If T-Joe is good enough for Joe, Joseph, Joe Joe, Joey, or whatever the hell his name is, then why not for the school. Call us T-UL. Everyone in Louisiana who knows anything about Cajun culture would know that T-stood for "THE". That way we could use the excuse that we were using the cultural dialect in the name of the school or the sports teams. Everyone around here would know that T-UL would stand for The University of Louisiana, and yet the biggest detractors and critics could not say jack $h!+ because legally we wouldn't be using any formal means to refer to ourselves as UL or the university of Louisiana. It would have been a brilliant strategy. I would have bought a whole ficking wardrobe to support it. And it would have been a total knock it out the park grand slam.

Why not T-Joe? If you can call yourself T-Joe when your legal name is Joseph, then why can't you of all people nickname the sports teams T-UL? This would have not only made you look strong and courageous to your local supporters, it would have been a stroke of Cajun genius that would have set the town ablaze and sent your detractors screaming and running for cover. Giving up and compromising is not the way to win. It's the way to say we lost, but we didn't bleed our guts out in public. Being smart and putting the battle on your own terms in your own time is the way to win the battle. One day this administration will get that.

The worst of LSU fans' bullshite comes from the sidewalk. Does - have any sidewalk fans, or is all of this pristine entertainment coming from their actual alumni?

I would guess a little bit of both, just like any other school.

You can't tell me for a second that the fans who start ridiculous threads on the rant are never alumni. I'm sure you're smarter than that.

Of course I'm smarter than to say that, but I strongly suspect that, by and large, LSU alumni have a tighter grip than - alumni have. - alumni are going batshit.

Despite all of the turmoil THyphen has created we can still be thankful that we aren't whiney losers like the waaaaahoax of UL-M. Or even worse we could be insignificant d1aa _______ like Brokeback College stuck in Lake Cuck.

More of the "we demand respect but sure as hell won't give any" mentality from lafayette

Hypen-gate Update

University of Louisiana at Lafayette Louisiana Ragin Cajuns.

Hyphen now removed and the first reference shall be "UL Lafayette".
Nickname changed to include Louisiana before Ragin Cajuns.

Hahahahahahaha...so the hope is that UL Lafayette will be referred to by it's nickname, I assume.

So now, instead of changing the name of the university to UL they are just trying to change the nickname of the school's athletic teams from Ragin Cajuns to Louisiana Ragin Cajuns ?? Did I read that correctly

Yep they are the UL Lafayette "Louisiana Ragin Cajuns"
