they were gassed in the third.

beanie had a "so called" concussion. never really saw the blow to the head.

kid leaves the field on a stretcher with a damn "stinger"

best q.b. sat the bench most of the game.

best w.r. played q.b. (not really. but, i think he should play w.r.)

blitzed entirely too much.

so, for me, i call it an improvment from the last few years.

I don't know why anyone would assume Florida or Oklahoma would win against the Bucks by 3 tds

might have something to do with the fact that usc beat osu by nearly 30

so, did Ohio State gain or lose respect after this game?

kinda what i expected.

but if yall had a decent qb yall would have blown them out.

the start of the second half would have been different if you could have done better than a 3 and out. i am really surprised tressel did not call a timeout in that second drive for texas.

one thing i got out of that game is florida is going to destroy oklahoma.

Here in Texas, all I heard was how the horns were going to blow out the Buckeyes, but just like Ole Miss with Tx Tech, I didn't think that would happen. Texas is very lucky to have won their game...maybe even enough to allow Utah to pass them in the polls...

...USC beat tOSU by 30....blah blah

*********************

...what - 2nd game of the year? ...USC also LOST to the "other" OSU

My take: Was obvious that Senior heavy Buckeyes were fired up for this game - and wanted badly to end their rep as "can't win the big one" . UT was "sleepwalkin" in first half on offense, then McCoy had a "brainlock" inside the 15 on last play of first half when WR open for TD with decent throw. But then 'Horns did what they had to under pressure when it was crunch time. The mark of a good team...tOSU is solid team w/ very good "D", and I agree that UF and OU don't blow them out this year, either. Some of the Ranturds are lame, i.e : UT is an "average" team ?. Yeah. 12-1. One loss on last play of game heave. Beat OU fair and square by 10 on neutral field in game 6. And OU is in the big game. But they couldn't beat an "average" UT team....Yeah. UT. - they're just "average" .
Bottom line: tOSU played hard with intensity, and hung tough with a "No. 1 caliber" team. Actually had a shot to win. That gets my respect.
...UT? Sorta "played down" somewhat it seemed.- not their "best" game of the year ( b/c of OSU "D" perhaps?..), and still pulled it out. But alas - not enough "style points" for pollsters if OU wins vs UF to get AP No.1 nod...

We'll see after Thurs night BCS game - but top 4 this year in no particular standing - pick your order of finish, all are about equal to me: - USC/UT/OU/UF. Some great teams there. Its all a toss-up.

It was impressive that OSU was able to make what could have slipped away early in the 4th into a great game. Easily the best big bowl game so far this year. I don't know if "gained respect" is the right phrase for it. Respect was never the issue.

The issue with Ohio St. is the irrational notion that a Big Ten team can compete with the best of the SEC or the Big-12 or USC. The BCS is going to put OSU into a game until they win one, it seems.

Year in and year out, the Buckeyes are fed to the lions on a national stage and it hurts them and the conference more than it helps. Recruits realize where the big boys have been playing for the last five or so years and it isn't the Big Ten, because they always get themselves beat in the big games.

Ohio State stepped up against a good team from the south so they gained a little in my book. The problem was, most of the respect I gained was for Boeckman, and isn't he gone after this?

Terrelle Pryor is a pussy, he's not a football player. OSU would be better served bringing in a stud passing QB to run the offense full time while having Pryor run a set of option plays. He can't take over the offense full time IMO against good teams and ever expect to win.

problem is the coaching preparation. OSU had this game won, I gotta blame this one on the D coordinator.

the previous two years, there was no aount of preparation OSU could have done. and thats because they lack overall team speed.
