It’s that time of the tourney when it gets too crowded in here, which is my cue to duck out. See you guys (the regulars) in the other thread next week.

You’re good man. I was just genuinely curious.

Pegula got run over like the Bills defense in the 4th quarter yesterday. Sheesh.

The Hammer beats Monf. Enjoy seeing Rafa in the finals. He will feast on Berrettini's weak backhand and movement next round.

I guess Shapo went berzkerker about Rafa taking too much time. I saw him complaining in the first set, but it didn't look too bad at that point. I have always hated that about Rafa, but with the clock now, it seems like much less of a problem.

I’m not looking to debate you. I literally asked where you’ve heard it.

If you can’t answer that, I can only assume that the place(s) you’ve heard that aren’t particularly reputable.

He really didn't bitch that badly. The issue was not Rafa taking too long on his own serve. It was Shapo being ready to play with the serve clock started and Rafa still dicking around with his towel. That was a legit beef I thought.

Rafa also was checked by trainers and then took a medical timeout and toilet break. It was annoying for sure but all seemed to be within the rules (some gamesmanship but also Rafa looked like absolute shite physically).

Did he take a medical timeout? I know he called the physio but I thought it was just on a changeover.

Called the physio on the court, but then took a medical timeout between sets apparently and also used the toilet during the time. Shapo was mad at the medical timeout AND toilet break. He seemed to be arguing that Rafa shouldn't be able to do both at once. No idea what the rules are on that, though.

Got it, thanks. I missed that part. Watched the end of the 4th and picked it back up 1-0 in the fifth.

Medvedev breaks in the 5th. Pretty great comeback considering how how FAA's level was.

4 hours and 42 minutes and Medvedev is through to the semis.

FAA had two break points in Med's final service game, but couldn't break. Medvedev plays so fast on his service games and I think that makes it tough on opponents with tired legs late in the match.

What an awesome match.

I did not think that would happen. Tsitsi was kind of banged up coming into the tournament.

Very good women's semis tonight. Too bad I will be asleep for it. Keys +350 is worth a few shekels IMO.

OK, D Collins made the finals.

Disappointing from Keys today. Barty seems to cause a lot of problems with her slice.

I think Nadal will make routine work of the Italian stallion. Match is up in half an hour. Not quite as sure about the second match, but my feeling is Tsitsipas will win as Medvedev is tired from the other night. J Mac just called Berrettini the best looking player in the last 40 years.

Routine first set to Rafa. Berrettini was mostly garbage, but got a little better at the end of the set.

Berrettini’s backhand is butt

baffled that he isn’t slicing more to neutralize the ball

I was expecting a lot more out of Berrettini. But it is starting to just make sense with Nadal seeming to be in shape. He just seems flat maybe intimidated.
