Sloppy game by the Aeros last night. Lost in an 11-round shootout. Should have been over in regulation, but the D lost track of someone in front of the net.

Can I rant again about horrible the Phaneuf deal was? For the record, the Flames have already gotten rid of White and Mayer, so the deal, after two years is:
Phaneuf plus some spare parts for Hagman and Stajan. Stajan sucks out loud and Hagman is a 32 year old winger who scored 11 goals last season. The Flames traded Dion Phaneuf, essentially, for Niklas Hagman. It was a staggeringly stupid trade that only gets dumber as time goes on.
Oh, and the money they saved allowed them to re-sign Robin Reghr... oh, wait. It didn't. but the Flames still have Jay Bouwmeester, an offensive defenseman who has scored 7 goals and 46 assists... over the last two seasons. Phaneuf has never scored less than 8 goals, and has double digit goals in every season save that one. Oh, and Bouwmeester costs a mere $6 million per season and plays shitty defense.
It was a franchise killing trade that will set the Flames back a decade. A decade.
