2012 would have won the title regardless. I mean, Indiana and Boston were about as tough as whatever the West was gonna throw at them that year. Obviously the 1st round series would have been harder.
2013 would have been interesting for sure. This year I guess it just depends on what seed they were.

Who exactly is old outside of the Big 3???
Wasn't exactly the point. They had veteran guys who kind of led the group. I mean, their two best players were 30+.
Celtics were the 4th oldest team in the league in 2012 when they pushed them. Can't find anything on 2011, but Dallas was THE OLDEST team in the league in 2012 a year after their title.
I'd rather have a team with some good, experienced players than one like the Raptors to go up against the Heat.
I don't think using the "old as frick" argument as to why the Heat will win the series (like that other dude did) is reasonable.

Heat have proven their own against the West. They even had a 17 (may have been longer) game win streak against WC teams.
So far I have seen one Heat fan say the regular season doesn't matter and another that does
This years Heat team would have had an absolute struggle making it out of the 1st round if they were in the West.

Pretty much every round in the West will be a struggle for every team.

Totally unbiased opinion coming from you

Meh, easier to get up for WC teams when you can afford to going back and playing shitty east competition in short order.

Regular season isn't a big deal to me either. I just think that people need to eventually start coming up with new material regarding the Heat vs the WC, because the facts are working against them.

They just like to hate because it's the cool thing to do. They mad we stylin.

The Heat are practically an automatic to get out of the East, correct?
The Heat would have a far more difficult time getting out of the West, agreed?
Neither statement is unreasonable.
And that's all anyone is saying.

Saying the Heat would have a tougher time getting to the Finals consecutive years out of the West versus the East is hardly outlandish.

I'm basically on the team man.. Don't hate.

Let's review a few things here
Heat vs WC playoff teams
OKC 1-1
Mem 1-1
Por 2-0 (will admit they played a LMA less Portland both times)
LAC 2-0
Spurs 1-1
Hou 1-1
Dal 2-0
GS 1-1
That's a 11-5 record against those teams
Heat based on this sample size could be anywhere from a 3 seed to a 6 seed in the West.

Which is a markedly tougher row to hoe than being a 1-2 seed in the East.
Again, not to say that MIA wouldn't make it to the finals, but it'd be far from the virtual given that it's been in the East the past few years.
I'm not even hating on the Heat right now. It's an enviable position to be in, tbh. Easiest possible path is my mantra.

Where they have played a Game 7 each season.

Against inferior competition.
That kind of proves my point

So they're .500 against every team but an 8 seed, the Clippers, and the Aldridge-less Blazers?
I don't think that's conclusive, not to mention the fact that we are dealing with the regular season with those numbers.
Again, it's not a bad thing for the Heat to have an easy path - all they can do is play the teams on their schedule - but there's no denying that the West is soooo much better than the East from top to bottom this year.
It's a pretty safe assumption to say that the Heat would have a much tougher time reaching the Finals in the Western Conference.

This.
Saying such isn't hating on the heat. Hell, like I said, I wish the Spurs had an easier path to the Finals.

Can you imagine any of the top West teams in the East? It wouldn't even be fair
I honestly think there's 4 or 5 west teams that could go 12-2 or better in the EC playoffs this year

I was thinking along similar lines.
Hell, the SEVENTH seed in the West this year, I'd peg as the #2 East team, with a more than strong chance of winning that conference outright.
