That's a big Ten Four.

I'm a believer that teams don't always have to play to their averages, teams will have bad/good games under certain environments. I really feel a good game from NC State at home tonight.
A perfect example is the Saints game last Sunday, of course they are 3 points better than Tampa on average. Yet Tampa played well and Saints didn't granted the Saints still won, they didn't cover due to both teams not playing up to their potential.
Tonight I think NC State's D line holds their own against Clemson's run game and NC State's O-line gives Thomas time to make plays.

That's actually not a good example at all. The reason I don't bet NFL is because each team is equally talented. The only thing that separates them is quarterback play and coaching. So it's not only possible that the worst team in the league can beat the best, but it even happens from time to time.

Anyone else liking Clemson 1Q -3.5?

No, everyone was basing Illinois off of last years shitty team. Illinois isn't that bad of a team this year.

have they even started conference play yet?

Illinois, the team you just anointed as not bad this year

Wash St beating USC, no Washington State isn't better than USC, but they played above their means, which I expect from NC State tonight

Nope. But they put up a good showing against a very good Washington team.
State's QB has yet to throw a touchdown pass against Louisiana Tech and Richmond. Just let that soak for a little while.

NC State did hang 48 up at Clemson last year if that matters at all.

1. I don't believe there to be an appreciable talent difference between Cincy and Illinois
2. I'm not saying that more talented teams never lose to teams with lesser talent. But when it happens, it usually involves a talented team that simply sucks at football, likely because of bad coaching (see Brown, Mack).
3. I don't see those variables this year with Clemson. I think they're competent defensively and well-lubricated offensively.
4. And you're gonna want that lubrication on offense.

we are all trying to predict the future here, I'm not saying I'm right or wrong, but it's awfully square of everyone to just log in to their little 5 dimes account and bet the max on Clemson because on paper it looks like they should cover easily, Vegas didn't set that line up for everyone to win free money.

Mike Glennon is no longer at State though. I just think this State team is not capable of putting up the points that will be needed to keep up. Dabo loves the spotlight and attention. With last week off, he will have this team fired up and ready to go.

Let the record reflect that somewhere on the MSB is a thread that includes a post by BobbyRay21 stating that Illinois would be better this year and Purdue worse.
Nobody listens to BR21.
But, to be fair, I'm wrong a lot too.

I can assure you that they set the moneyline for the very purpose of somebody winning some Free Money. And who is that somebody you ask?
