good list.

I was debating between putting LA or SanJose in at 5. That division is brutal tough right now with Anaheim/LA/San Jose.

I have never, in all my years as a Blues fan, seen us have team this well disciplined in their own end and the neutral zone. The depth we have up front is amazing. Steen and Backes went down with injuries and this team just kept chugging along.

Same here. I could be convinced by a good pro-Sharks argument. Or even a Bruins argument. But I think what's so impressive about the Kings is that they are playing "playoff hockey" right now. And they were doing it without their goalie, who is beyond awesome. How's Quick doing since his injury? Well, in this calendar year, he has a shutout and a save percentage of .942. So pretty good.

Yes they are. They are a tough team to face.

They are scary good when quick is on his game. Believe me, we Blues fans understand this well.

ETA: Did you see Kesler give Dustin Brown the goods the other night?

I think the Ducks have something to say about that with a home record of 20-0-2

Ah yes those damn Ducks, with 2 OTL's. Shoulda said conference.

Speaking of the Ducks, watched a bit of the game last night and was surprised their arena was decently empty. How can such a major market/population and top points team in the league not sell out damn near every game? I guess the Kings just dominate. Eff that I'd be a Quacker before a King.

Traffic, and tickets are expensive in a shitty economy where people don't have as much disposable income.

Yeah it was a very entertaining game, missed the first period but caught the last two.

Apparently Ovechkin waited in the hallway between locker rooms after the game to chat with Malkin about the Olympic team.

quote:

Before the game, Ovechkin acknowledged that there had been discussion that he and Malkin would play on the same forward unit in Sochi.

"It's coach's decision who's going to play in the Olympic Games together," Ovechkin said. "But definitely if we're going to play together, it's going to be a good line."

Chemistry? You would think so, given the separate skill sets each brings to the table.

"Well, he's a great passer and [he has] great control the puck, he can control the puck well," Ovechkin said. "I'm kind of guy who likes to shoot the puck. I hope it's going to work."

After the game, a towel-clad Ovechkin waited patiently in the hallway between the two dressing rooms at Consol Energy Center to chat with Malkin, who was speaking with U.S. gymnast Nastia Liukin.

Total frickin' Geno.

If Geno is chatting it up post game in the halls with Nastia Liukin, then I'm sure he'd love some time with Maria Kirilenko.

I used to like Maria too. Shame.

It's disgusting how good he is, especially from a blues fan P.O.V.

We do so poorly against him. Have to get shots up on him an hit the top corners. That's the only area he gives up, he sells out to save everything low.
