Meanwhile the Dallas Stars crap up another game to a bad team, this time to the Florida Panthers.

The Stars have lost both games to the Panthers and the Islanders (two of the league's worst teams) plus one to Edmonton. And people (all 29 of them that care about hockey in DFW) still think they'll make the playoffs?

Hopefully we'll beat the Stars on Tuesday night as well. Don't like that team.

Jackets spanked the islanders.

6 points in the next 5 games and they clinch. Still praying for 3rd in the metro though to avoid pitt/Boston

I went yesterday, it was a great atmosphere. Great win that we really needed. Bob was incredible last night.

I think 3rd in the metro is out of our reach, but it would be great.

Glad to see us beating bad teams when we need to.

3rd in metro isn't likely but it isn't out of reach. If they end up tying in overall points with Philly, the Jackets will likely have the tiebreaker to get the 3rd spot.

So let me get this straight.

1 seed will play 8 no matter what, and 2 will play 7 no matter what, right?

And then 2 vs 3 in each divison, correct?

So you guys (CBJ) want the 3 seed in the metro so you would play NYR.

I don't know how it really works but I think it's what you laid out. I think the 2 and 3 for each division play each other but the other 2 series are based on points without the division really factoring in. Grabbing 3rd in the metro would be huge, especially with the CBJ/NYR rivalry that's starting to brew. That would be one hell of a series.

We can beat the NYR in a a series. We can't beat Boston or Pitt.

Meh, look at pittsburgh's injuries. The irony would be huge if Columbus beat the NYR. Do you guys hate Nash or is it all good?

I didn't have any hard feelings against him until he returned to Columbus a few weeks ago. His shove on Bobrovsky changed my mind.

We'll be pretty healthy when the playoffs start.

Malkin is ready to go, Martin and Bennett are already back, and Goc will be back for the playoffs.

That leaves only Joe Vitale and Kris Letang injured although Letang has been cleared to return for weeks now as well as practicing full go and participating in gameday skates, so I wouldn't be surprised to even see him come back.

Yeah, even as a NYR fan I'll admit that was a dick move. NEVER touch the opposing team's goalie (intentionally).

By the way, anyone follow Roberto Loungo on Twitter? Hilarious:

Great to see Tortorella doing as well as he is in Vancouver. Couldn't happen to a more pleasant guy.

I like Nash turning into a guy that the CBJ hates, especially since they are in our division. It makes for good hockey.

Forcing Calvert to fight him was an LOL move though. Calvert tried to fight a huge Guy (#7 I think) for NYI last night, he will fight anyone.

Yes definately could benefit from more intense rivalries.

You want to avoid Boston, who is far and away the best team, but I'd rather play the Pens than the Rangers. It might be better to be 4th in the Metro than 3rd.

One word: Lundquist.

Jackets magic number is now 4 with New Jersey losing tonight. 4 games in 4 cities in 99 hours is completely insane though.

Big game tonight for the battle for last place in the west between Nashville and Dallas. I mean not really that big, more in the sense of battling it out to be the 65th team in the NCAA tournament.

Interesting time of year though because you have teams like Boston and Pittsburgh resting their players and lower tier teams trying to make a last minute push.

CBJ vs Phoenix tonight.

They would have a 99%+ odds of making the playoffs with a win tonight.

The first of 5 games in 99 hours.

Let's dew dis.
