I wonder if that still will hold true, being a playoff game.

I mean hell, the scalpers may not even be able to get their hands on any tickets. I can't really remember what it was like the last time we were in it, I didn't try to go.

Yeah, it will be more difficult. But those guys each had a single ticket they had left over because they were trying to hold out and get top dollar and got stuck. So we bought 4 tickets all over the arena for $40 and just sat together.
That won't be like that in the playoffs, but I bet if you were willing to go down there, get drunk, wait until halfway through the first and walk out and see what was going on, you'd find at least one that would be a decent value. It will be a great atmosphere.

I may try that if my other CBJ connections don't come through. I'd just like to see the hometown team back in the playoffs.

I love knowing the Jackets are already up 1-0 on Dallas.
Still baffles me they are playing all of the 1st period again.

Toronto eliminated from playoff contention.

I'm so very excited for tomorrow night.

Take the skills competition. The AS Game is a bore.
Congrats to the Jackets. That was an awesome comeback which I think puts the nail in the Caps coffin, even with the win over the Blues (you mean... the team will score goals when you pair Ovi with Backstrom... what sorcery is this?!)
Caps need to win out and have either Wings or Jackets lose out. That's not happening.
Congrats on a great run. Y'all earned it. It's not over yet, but it essentially is... and I'll be rooting for the Jackets in the playoffs. Y'all have had some rough years and deserve a run. And I like most of the Cbus fans on this board. Good luck.

So what else is new?
At least they have the marleys to root for.
Stars eliminated the predators tonight too. Was a pretty intense game. Excited for the playoffs but it does feel strange without Washington and Ottawa

According to @TSNBobMcKenzie, Ray Shero will address the media at 10:15am and is expected to announce that Kris Letang is playing tonight.
NO frickING WAY. DEAR GOD PLEASE!
If so I totally called him returning the last few games of regular season to get back in game shape/form. What a gigantic boost this would be!

Curb your enthusiasm bro! Still need someone that can hold their own in between the pipes. It's not like you have Tom Barasso in there

I honestly hope he doesn't die. That's not snark, but heart conditions are no joke. I'm legit terrified for the guy.
He's a phenomenal player but more importantly, he's a human being. Same with Peverly. This isn't coming back from a broken leg, this is something that could honestly kill you. I hope he's fully healthy and able to play like Kris Letang.

It's official: Kris Letang will return to Penguins' lineup tonight. Has been recovering from stroke.

Letang no more likely to be at risk for another stroke playing hockey than grocery shopping, Shero said. #Penguins

Full confidence in Fleury this year, looks as good as 2009, kudos to the new goalie coach. We're also significantly better defensively especially now getting healthy for the first time all year.

The Penguins have had Kris Letang and Paul Martin in the lineup just 96 times the past 3 years. They're 64-25-7 and a 53 percent FenClose.

Glad somebody has confidence in Fluery
- 21st in Save percentage
- 12th in GAA
Seriously though - since I moved to a western conference city this year I don't see how the Penguins can stack up against the Blues, Ducks, or Sharks. Have a couple of stars, probably the best player in hockey but Bylsma isn't getting what he should out of that payroll.
(but neither do the Rangers, Jets, or Mets, so that makes my teams suck as well

Those are fantastic numbers in the Pens style of play with your 2 best defenders out a combined 120 games, with a 19 year old rookie manning your 1st D pairing during most of those games missed.
2nd best save percentage and GAA season in Fleury's career, and the 1st best was the 2010-11 season, not the Cup season.
You'd be hard pressed to find a Pens fan not confident in Fleury, he's been amazing this season given the circumstances to his defense and having an AHL goalie as his backup.

Would like the Pens chances very much against the Ducks or Sharks. Blues remind me of the Bruins, bad matchup, and would be tough to knock out.

I've belabored the point, but Fleury has been singularly awful in the Stanley Cup playoffs. He's a mediocre goalie in the regular season who plays even worse in the postseason. He is the single biggest issue on the Penguins roster. I think the fancystat crowd underrated goalies. Yes, you can win a Cup with Fleury (obviously), but you need to be virtually perfect everywhere else to overcome it.
There's been a lot of chatter about firing Bylsma if the Pens don't win the Cup, which I don't get. He's a pretty good coach and I think he's getting a lot out of a roster with a gaping sieve in net and a blueline that's been decimated by injuries this year. I mean, the Caps are up against the cap and won't even make the playoffs -- that's underperforming your payroll. The Pens won their division in a walk despite their D corps looking more like a MASH unit.
That said, since someone brought up FenClose, here's the numbers right now:
LINK
The Pens have a 50.60% FenClose which is... meh. The Stanley Cup champ usually has a FenClose around 55% or above. Four teams fit that bill: LA, Chicago, San Jose, and Boston. The Blues and Rangers are knocking on the door (as are the Devils, who are missing the playoffs due to their dismal shootout performance). I think those are the legit contenders.

Pens have a 53% FenClose with Letang in the lineup. The same 53% the 2009 Stanley Cup team had.
Stats mean shite when half your team has been hurt all season. Most man games lost in the NHL this year.
All that matters is getting healthy at the right time, and this team is easily capable of winning the Cup as much as you hate it.

Also, I've seen absolutely zero of this and I follow a ton of Pens fans and media on Twitter as well as posting daily on the Pens HF board while browsing other teams'.
If anything, Bylsma has gotten more praise this year for keeping the team in the position they are despite the ridiculous amount of injuries across the board.

The game should restart at the point where it stopped, with CBJ having a 1-0 lead. (This is what I believe should have happened.) OR, you restart the game from the beginning and toss all the stats, like you do in baseball with a rainout.
But to restart the entire game AND give the visitors a lead makes no sense. What if Dallas is down by one when the game would have ended, but scores two goals in the "extra time" to take the win?

Letang has a Fenwick of 49.8% this season. That's not that huge of a difference maker. I'm also skeptical of his health. The Pens real problem on D, considering Maata has been even better than either Martin or Letang were this year, is their leading blueliner in minutes is Orpik, who is pretty terrible. He has a Fenwick of 47%, but he's also a slow footed D man who constantly gets beat by faster players. Throw in that he's a penalty taking machine who adds nothing on the offensive end, he's a giant scar in the lineup. which wouldn't be a big deal if the Pens didn't insist on using him on the top 4. I'm a huge fan of Despres actually, who likely will be on a nacho duty come playoff time.
