Ducks stay undefeated at home. Beat Vancouver 3-1.

15-3-1 on the year. Most points in the league.

27 goals given up in the last 6 games. Preds have always been one of the better defensive teams in the league but that shows just how much credit Rinne deserves.

Oh boy, Stamkos went down
Hope he's OK but his leg hit the pole hard in a bad way

The Lightning are going to have to dig deep now
Man, Stamkos was having a great season so far

Stamkos has a broken right tibia. Just hope this doesn't have a long term effect on his promising Hall of Fame career. I know being a Lightning fan gives me bias, but Stamkos really is a good fellow & player. His presence adds to the NHL's appeal, and he'll be missed......

Steven Stamkos out indefinitely

https://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/9961449/steven-stamkos-tampa-bay-lightning-suffers-leg-injury-boston-bruins

No one can replace Steven Stamkos

https://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/27714/no-one-can-replace-steven-stamkos

Quote from Yzerman, nothing but truth here
"The medical staff in Boston, in consultation with our team physicians, has made the decision to surgically repair the injury," Yzerman said in a team release. "The procedure is expected to take place tomorrow morning.
"The biggest concern for me, and the rest of the Lightning, is that decisions are made in Steven's best long-term interest, and we feel this is the appropriate course of action."

No, Stamkos is one of the best players in the league and he's fun as hell to watch. That's not your fan bias, that's the plain truth. It's horrible to see a guy like that go down with a huge injury, particularly this close to the Olympics.

He's only 23 and he's won the Rocket Richard (NHL leading goal scorer) twice. He's a bad arse.

Is the west that much better than the east this year? Just looked at the league standings and the top 6 teams are from the west.

Caps would almost certainly be willing to trade Neuvirth.

Really, the Caps need to find a 4D to pair with Mike Green. I'd prefer if they traded Brouwer to do it, as they could put Fehr in his slot and I like having the Neuvirth security blanket. I also wouldn't mind moving Laich, but I think his contract is an albatross.

That Red Wings-Caps game was the crazy pants. Two OT power plays yet neither team scores? Insane.

And a spin o rama! It didn't work, but still.

habs lose 1-0. price played a good game. no help offensively. looking more and more like last year's shortened year and division championship was fool's gold for us.

oh well, we have some good youngsters to still build around if we dump the driftwood. hell. i could care less if we will be a 8th seed. I'd rather bottom out again and get more good draft picks like Gallagher and Galchenyuk last year.

In the NHL's quest to make Sidney Crosby the most despised player on earth, I give you the actual headline on NHL.com:

Penguins' Crosby leads Hart Trophy race

Let's forget that John Tavares has the same boxcar stats as Crosby for just a quick moment. Hell, let's even forget Ovechkin has 17 goals and the Caps are in 1st place in the Metro (yeah, I'm as shocked as you are)...

Alexander Steen?

I mean, he's only leading the league in scoring while boasting a +11 on a team with a better record than Pittsburgh. Is it sustainable? Of course not. He's shooting 25%. But can't we give the guy the nod for right now? Steen's been the best player in the NHL for 20 games, no need to crowd him out of the photo.
