This. Unfortuneately he had a lifetime ban and now his life is over so now he will get in.

RIP to the best hitter of all time, wouldn't be surprised if he is in next year's Hall of Fame class.

Hope he is giving that loser Bart a finger in the afterlife. Rest in peace

First RIP to him. He never gave less than his best and they broke the mold with him, there'll never be another like him.
But there is absolutely zero chance of him being inducted, ever, no matter how much fans who don't look at the big picture yap for it.
It's not just the gambling, it's the underage girl and a lot of other stuff he did over the years that has come to light. There are reasons that people like Johnny Bench, for example, have hated this man's guts for 50 years and it had nothing to do with jealousy on Bench's part.
The powers that be in MLB don't want anything to do with this man and his legacy. It is what it is.

Love that gif of Rose. He roasted the Boston crowd at Wrestlemania before being tombstoned by Kane.

If I’m his family and MLB tries to put him in now, I tell them to frick off.

Johnny could hold 7 baseballs in his hand but couldn't hold Pete's jock. Shame

Shame he never was allowed in while he was alive. The MLB is actively promoting someone who is guilty as hell for betting on baseball but Pete Rose wasn’t let in absolutely a joke!

I had read somewhere that Bench serves on some committee at the Baseball Hall of Fame. Article mentioned that any Rose induction request had to go through that committee. Could it be the old timers committee? Bench pretty much kills that request upon arrival.
Does that sound familiar?

Stop talking out of your arse…I’ve met Bench many times and he comes off as the bitter Ahole.
“Johnny Bench and Pete Rose didn't get along very well during their time as Cincinnati Reds teammates in the 1970s.
Bench and Rose were polar opposites, with the former carrying himself with an air of sophistication and class as the Reds' talented young catcher, and the latter, a veteran at the start of the '70s, living up to his "Charlie Hustle" nickname as an unapologetically hard-nosed outfielder. Legendary sportscaster Al Michaels told the outlet that the two men weren't exactly friends, but it wasn't like their lack of an off-the-field relationship was a distraction to the other Reds, who mostly shared a tight-knit bond as friends and teammates. "Bench and Rose were never bosom buddies, not even close," he explained. "There was a healthy rivalry. Who was the alpha dog? But this was never to the detriment of the team."

What family? According to a great biography of Pete that came out earlier this year he was pretty much alone in the world, his kids wouldn’t have anything to do with him anymore.
His first wife Karolyn told the author that she was trying to convince her kids with him to be there with him when he died so he wouldn’t die alone. She said she planned to be there too for the same reason.

Bench banged more teenage twat than you could ever dream about - painting him as some sort of saint who wasn’t chartreuse-green jealous of Rose just shows how ignorant you are…

Johnny was the GOAT at his position. Pete was not the GOAT at his.

I'll reserve negative comments for other discussions in the coming weeks, but RIP to baseball's best hitter and one of the most competitive players in team sport history.

I remember as a kid watching Pete hustle to 1st even on a walk.
He became one of my favorites. Played the game deep into his 40's like a kid on the playground.
All time hits leader. Played hard and with a smile.
We'll miss you Pete.

Great player, one of the best all time. Shouldn't have bet on baseball.
