The Grizzlies made the playoffs and got swept in Pau's third year, but that team was ridiculously better than anything the TWolves had this year.
Clearly what I see as improving the Lakers is something you see as a step backwards. Now I hope the deal is made so we can see.

am i the only one who thinks that Pau Gasol is still much better than Kevin Love?
Pau I believe is 29. Is longer, taller, better with his back to the basket, a better scorer and a better passer.
Love is admittedly a better rebounder. he obviously has more upside.
but just because the lakers had a shitty series versus the mavs doesn't make Pau terrible. A lot of people had a shitty series versus the mavs in the playoffs this year.

First off, I do think Pau is still a better player at this point.
However, if I am given a choice between Pau and Love, I take Love. Some of the reasoning comes from the Dallas series, but age, aggression, and production play a big factor.
The big downside to me is that Gasol is one of the more intelligent players in the league. I think a major reason for his success with the Lakers has been his understanding of the game and how to work with another superstar. Kobe/Pau/Fish all have really high basketball IQ's, which has been a major asset to the team. I have no idea if Kevin Love has an "alpha dog" mentality or any of the other baggage players may carry that we do not see at home.

I just can't see how giving up Love and the #2 pick for Pau makes any sense from the T-wolves perspective at all. The only way this makes sense is if Love is demanding out of Minnesota and then the trade only makes sense straight up or for a late rounder, not the #2!
