My brother in Christ, you are wrong about this
There’s no other way for the panel to determine whether the figure presented by Skubal is fair or if the figure presented by ownership is an egregiously low offer.
What you’re suggesting would result in ownership virtually retaining complete control, which is the opposite of what arbitration is intended for.

I can assure you I am not, and nobody said the arbitration system makes any sense. I am sure there is a leaked arb presentation or two out there I can dig up and post here.
If you think they can use free agency deals as comps and these guys are getting paid what they get paid in arb, you must think every MLB agent is absolutely terrible at their job.
