The bottom line is the fans can get as bent and emotional about the refs as they want but when the team does it and Tarasenko took a dumb penalty out of frustration the game was over right there.
The playoffs are about maintaining your composure and your emotions and the Blues just didnt do that this game after the goal was disallowed.
I blame the team and Hitchcock for not getting the team focused after that to get back to grinding it out
On to game 3.

That was some intense defending by the ryan ellis...
If we can stay away from the bullshite penalties, we have a chance... preds look better 5v5.

I just read the offsides rule.
There is no way he was offsides in the Blues game. His skate definitely was not past the line when the puck crossed. What a fricking joke.

So the skate can be up as long as it is not past the blue line? Not the way I've heard it explained . But I've never read the rule.

The thing about the rule that bothers me is if you look at the picture going around twitter NEITHER of his skates were on the ice.
So since his skate is not in the neutral zone anymore because his sake isn't on the ice then how is he in the attacking zone if his skate isn't on the ice there are well?
I understand how the rule reads but if did not establish himself in the neutral zone because his skate isnt on the ice then the reverse should be true as well in that he has not established himself in the attacking zone yet.
If this is going to be the main emphasis of goal reversals in the nhl via coaches challenges then the rule needs to carefully scrutinized to amend it for situations in which hd slo mo replays are being used to change the course of games.
just to e clear, he is off-sides under current rules. The rules need to be changed to bring them inline with the technology being used to scrutinize.

I've watched hockey for 25 years and it's always the trailing skate that is looked at. Not saying I know everything but it was an easy call from my viewpoint. Several people watching it with me all agreed he was offsides. None of us are hawk or Blues fans. We are neutral.

I agree that he is offside under the current rule. I clearly said that in my post.
The current rule needs to be changed to clarify what constitutes establishing yourself in the attacking zone now that we are using these types of replays.

Neal rings one off the post.
I really hope, of all the changes discussed to increase scoring, they go with angling the posts inward so more post shots go into the net instead of out.
ETA: GOOOOAL Preds 3-2

It's not about establishing yourself in the attacking zone. It's about having a skate in contact of the neutral zone. I didn't hear the explanation from the ref. If he said something about being in the attacking zone, he was mistaken.

Forsberg set up both the Neal shot off the post and then the goal.

I understand that. In the NHL before HD def replays that works and my point was and is that needs to be reexamined. Thats all Im saying.
