Yes. Coutoure is irrelvant as a HW. He doesn't even come close to beating any of the top guys.

If he cut to LHW, he could still compete, but would lose to half the top ten easily. Would probably go about 4-6 against the current top 10.

That was the first time anyone has ever really gotten the better of Fedor in a fight.

Yes, but that does not equal some kind of devastating end of man kind..... We all love Fedor, but if you thought it would never happen, you were foolish.

BTW Fujita Stunned Fedor the worst IMO

Didn't realize that. Edge to Machida though I am not 100% sold on him. Rua, Evans, and probably Bones Jones would all beat either IMO.

I actually meant Fujita when he rocked Fedor backwards with the big right.

I am sure Randleman's slam wasn't any fun, but Fedor sure did handle it well.

We will see. I think people give Couture too much credit. I do not see him ever regaining a title, even at LHW.

I personally think Couture is irrelevant when it cones to being a top 10 fighter.... Look at his recent fights
W-Toney
W-Coleman
W-Vera (gift wrapped)

The UFC gives him winnable fights. I think the Machida fight will tell us alot.

I don't either. I just wasn't sure if you realized he is fighting machida in two months, and a win would propel him right back towards the top (and possibly a #1 contender spot). However, I don't see Couture beating Machida cause I don't think he will be able to take him down.

and even though rashad is certainly capable of beating machida, you do realize that lyoto KO'ed rashad when they did fight.

ok, well you said they would all beat either. but i agree with you, I think rashad would also beat couture handidly. he's just too old and one-dimensional. should've retired after the toney fight, IMO. it would be awesome to see him beat machida, I just don't see it ending well for him.

I do not think Fedor is done. Before his previous loss, he was thought to be virtually unbeatable. That fight, it looks like he has another KO victory and goes for the kill... ends up losing. Everyone is stunned. I don't know what the frak happened tonight, but I don't think it should be the retirement of Fedor, unless he just does not have the will to fight anymore.

Couture is old and needs to retire. But his skill set proves that MMA is an "any given" Saturday league.

I think it shows how young the sport still is. at his age and skill set, no way would he still be competing against the best 10+ years from now. I don't think you will ever see dominant one-dimensional fighters in any weight class in a decade from now. the sport is evolving too fast.

I'm still in shock not that he lost but because he got dominated. Even in the stand-up Sliva landed some huge power shots.

I'm glad that Fedor got dominated. I've long since thought that he was overrated and never really fought many of the top guys in the sport. As soon as he gets in the cage with back-to-back top 10 fighters he loses...no coincidence.

You can make all the excuses you want, the man is not that old. He's 34. Lesnar, Mir, Werdum, Nelson, Nogueira, Silva..they're all within a couple years of that if not that same age. Obviously it can be done..look at guys like Liddell and Coutoure who have fought into their 40s. Couture may not be able to hang anymore with the elites but the man is 47 and was the HW champion just a couple years ago.

Fact is, make all the excuses you want. What I see is Fedor got in the cage with some really good fighters finally and lost, this one in dominating fashion. How 2 judges scored the first round for Fedor I don't know. Sure signifies overrated to me.

I've never understood why it's ok when you are a heavy weight to fight someone forty pounds bigger than you.

That being said, Overeem is going to kill those dudes. IMO. That dude is jacked up.
