Hamels can be one of the best, if he lives up to his potential. Haren seems to be hitting his potential and making the most of it. Besides that can the Phillies repeat last season, I for one do not think they can.

That's pretty laughable, dude.
By no means the worst offer I've seen thrown around, but you've gotta expect to give up something else besides Dan Haren to get Manny.
You're right about him not being far off from Hamels. They both had 23 QS last season if I counted right... Haren had the edge in K/9, Hamels with the edge in ERA/WHIP.

Manny being himself is better than Haren, Manny on a one-year deal playing for another contract is potentially a top-10 player.
And Haren is pretty underrated, I think. He kinda flew under the radar to a pretty solid season in 2008.
