Yeah and they went to the WS in 2008. Doesn't change the fact that the Yankees and Red Sox are going to be two of the best teams in baseball every year with their payrolls. It's a 3 team race and the loser could very well be the 3rd best team in the AL and get left out of the playoffs entirely.

I like Byrd as a short term solution.
I like that acquiring Upton means having him next year, a contract year, when he's hitting his prime ages. PLus he's got mad speed.

How so? They wanted two decent pitching prospects and that's giving it to them...
Maybe Andrelton Simmons or Edward Salcedo since we have Pastornicky and Lipka as other SS options in the system

I don't know what the Astros want, it really hasn't been reported.
For 2 1/2 years of Pence, it's probably going to take Minor and one of Delgado/Viz as the main pieces.
