I would expect nothing less from him.

Where would you like him to put Heyward? I wouldn't hit him ahead of Uggla, Freeman, Chip, McCann, or Prado. And he obviously isn't going to hit leadoff.

Heyward was better than Prado last year, is better, and has a skill set perfectly suited for the 2 hole. So that's where I'd put him.

Did you watch Heyward hit last year? He needs to show improvement before he gets to hit in the 2 hole.

There's really no way to argue it.

The only thing Prado did better was hit for average (30 points so) and considering he still go on base at a clip nearly 20 points less than Heyward, that's fairly astounding, IMO.

Off topic, but I'm reading this book about the '86 Mets.

I had no clue Roger McDowell was so fricking crazy.

Kevin Mitchell, one of baseballs all-time crazies said, "What do I have to say about Roger McDowell? How 'bout this - the man was insane."

Martin Prado's career avg w/ RISP = .290

Heyward last year... .218 (Prado .275)

Prado tOPS+ with RISP = 90 (average is 100)
JHey = 114 (soars to 165 with 2 outs)

Heyward has better SLG, OBP, OPS (By over 100 points).

I'll take Heyward.

In Spring Training I would have in the top 6 spots every single time he was in the line up. If JHey is destined for the back of the order, then FML. I will be jumping on the sinking ship O Dan.

Not sure why my opinions have been widely interpreted to be sky is falling. All I've really said is that I feel our competition got significantly better and we didn't, really. For that reason, I worry we won't make the playoffs, even in the expanded format.

Everyone else seems to think we will breeze to a WC spot.

No doubt. I'm pretty evenly split on whether we put it together and are battling for the division lead or struggle and are battling for the WC.

I just hope Heyward starts roping balls all over the park very soon in Spring Training. That would immediately make me feel better about our chances at the division.
