Chip takes too much shite. He's still productive.

I still have the Braves winning the division

I admire your fortitude.

I truthfully have never closely followed the correlations between Spring Training and in-season success. Does anyone know if another solid/good team has had such a shitty Spring Training as the Braves have had and what that meant for that actual season's production?

Only one team in history has won fewer than 10 games in Spring Training. The 2010 Pirates.
The Braves currently have 1 win.

I think Chipper needs to be a bench player to save his legs. I hate to say it, but I'd rather get Prado more PT at 3B and see if we can find a cheap alternative to play LF for the season - it's an unpopular choice but Chipper could be a great spot starter pinch hitter.

Why do so many people think Chipper sucks?
Just because Chipper now isn't Chipper of '99 doesn't mean he sucks.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a statement so utterly retarded.
Chipper is still one of the best hitters on the team when healthy. He played over 120 games last year. I'll take that all fricking day.
To say Prado/some OF that nobody wants that is still a FA is > Chipper/Prado for 120 games and Prado/Hinske or Diaz for 40 games is simply laughable.

I know he's one of the best hitters, Swamps. I'm simply saying to get the most mileage out of the guy we simply have to limit his day-to-day. I think he can start 2-4 games a week, but I'd like to monitor his usage more closely so we can have him down the stretch when it really counts. I just don't know if he can play 3B day-to-day on his knees. I don't think he sucks by any means. He's my fav player of all time. Of course this all depends on how well Prado can hit.
On a side note - what's the news on Vizcaino?

If he can play, you play him. Period. Give him a day off once a week or so but you, under no circumstance, put him on the bench.

He'll be ready to go in a day or two

Minor has been doing some work this spring.
Posted on 3/13/12 at 1:27 pm to SwampDonks
He's ready. He knows it. He's worked hard.
Very excited for him.
I think that's where his comments were coming from.

I usually pump sunshine up the arse when it comes to the Braves, but I'm really debating whether to fork out the $180 for the MLB EI package this season! Would be the first time in years that I haven't watched at least 120 Braves games in a season. I just have an awful feeling in my gut this team is gonna struggle to win 80 games?? Too many questions and too little excitement going on in Spring Training...that and the upstart Nats may seal the deal on my decision!!

Bethancourt hit a homer today.
I think you start to see an increase in his power this year.
