Yep. Got it all this morning :). I haven't been able to watch much for ST (all the games are played while I'm at work)...but you can bet that when the season starts I won't miss a pitch...

Can't you watch earlier games later on it?

Yep sure can. Pretty sure you can go back a year or two.

I went back and watched the 9th inning against the Reds from two years ago like 5 or 6 times last year

Oh, that's awesome. I can watch every game now when I get home (if the game is during the day)...

I love it. I'm a big Vin Scully fun and since the Dodgers games usually come on right after the Braves games end, I'll flip it over there and watch until I fall asleep.

OK, OK I admit it. I was a bit hasty in what I said about Chipper the other day...

Why do so many people think Chipper sucks?

Just because Chipper now isn't Chipper of '99 doesn't mean he sucks.

He doesn't suck, but he is on a decline both athletically and physically. The guy is 40 and taking up the hot corner where a team usually has a pretty solid anchor.

I've said it before, the Braves are hanging their hats on a lot of ifs and "no way he has another bad year".

Honestly, the Braves are only secure at 4 positions(1B, 2B, C, and CF). The whole not wanting to give up 1 young arm to land a bat at the deadline last year is just stupid. Freddi is fine as the skip, Wren is the cancer.

Game is on MLB Network tonight

Simmons is in the starting lineup again today. Guys, I think we have a legitimate battle for the SS position now.

eta: and he's hitting leadoff

Simmons
Chipper
Mac
Uggla
Freeman
Hinske
Heyward
Ross
Durango

Teheran on the hill

I think he would OK to start the season in the league. I know he hasn't played above A Ball but his defense is astounding. Could use that sort of glove with the type of pitchers we have. Every out counts.

He was one of our best hitters last year. There were probably only 4-5 3B in baseball more productive than him (speaking offensively alone).

I'm not a huge fan of Wren either, but I don't know why you have such confidence in Fredi, especially since you dislike Cox and Fredi is basically a Cox disciple without the unique ability to connect to players and get the most out of them. So essentially, Fredi is worthless.

1-10

Its just spring training but who gives a damn? Only a few more weeks until my team starts trekking toward their own embarrassingly bad record

Glad to hear he's doing well. He definitely can be a good back end guy.

Is Oberholtzer in big league camp?

Interesting comments today from Chipper about Bryce Harper.

quote:

“No, I’m not going to seek him out,” Jones said, “unless he wants to sit down and talk — which I’ve done with other players before. Let’s just say he doesn’t seem to me to be the type of kid who wants to walk up to me and pick my brain.”
