82 Sat and 81 Sun at Memphis National. Should have been alot lower on Saturday. Sent 3 consecutive drives OB on a reachable par 5(same homeowner met me at the gate and handed me all 3, said they all landed within 5' of each other ). Pins were tucked for a tourney held that morning and 9 was especially tucked front right(only 2 steps on from the right edge with only 1' of rough between fringe and cart path). Hung my approach out to the right and hit the path shooting it across the road and OB, carded a double. 3 putted a hole on the back for another double .

Had to play the other course on Sunday and greens had been punched a week ago so putting was difficult to say the least.

81 at Gleanloch (Loch-Pines). shot 39-42. Should have gone low. 3 putted a par 5 for a par, made two doubles on short par threes and I was crushing driver all day until it went wonky on three holes. short game was the best it has ever been--made a couple of par saving circus putts and had a sweet sandy where I spun it to a foot and tapped in for par. Left a lot of shots out there, but I'm definitely improving. only broken 80 once in my life so I shouldn't complain.

Driver is normally my best club, yet it probably cost me the most this weekend. My normal ball flight is a slight draw, but I've been working on being able to play a cut when its needed. There was several times this weekend that I set up for my normal draw and hit the cut that I've been working on. Definitely put me in some bad spots(i.e. peoples yards)

Yea, I realized this might be more difficult to understand for someone who's shooting 115+

All putts are straight and flat. Just determine the location of the "hole" and fire away.

I never hit it OB, but pulled a couple of bad ones leaving myself bad approaches. had to chip out sideways onece and take a drop on another. The doubles on the par threes were what ate my lunch. After the front nine I knew what my score was and knew I had a chance to break 80 and probaly let that consume me too much and my swing changed a bit. Got to learn how to manage that.

Thats why I only practice straight putts right now. I have a "Birdie Ball" nine-foot practice green set up, and I am just practicing hitting that frickin ball straight. This weekend I had 3 or 4 putts that I hit dead on the line I was aiming, just 3-6 feet short hahaha.

I'm normally right there with you on keeping it in play. Actually this summer it's been my most reliable club, down the middle with a slight draw. I started working on cutting the ball better so I would have that as a reliable optionin my arsenal when the shot called for it. Saturday the cut showed up when I was set up for my regular draw .

This summer has been the first time I've every been able to show up at the course and know I'm going to shoot in the 70s(with the exception of last weekend ). Most of that I attribute to taking a different approach to it. Playing smarter and keeping it in the fairway rather than trying to reach every par 5 in 2 or drive every green. A guy I play with and bet with has been spraying his driver every where the past month or 2, yet continues to pull it out every chance he can b/c that 1 in 5 he hits straight, he bombs it. Needless to say he's lost every time we've played this year(he's approaching the $500 barrier) and cards 80-85s and actually snapped his driver in half over his knee yesterday in frustration

Played today at Evergreen in Baytown. Shot 79. It's my first round back in the 70's in at least two years. I don't play as much as I used to play, only 4 times last year, and this is only my third time playing this year. I am pleased.

Bogied the last two holes too.

Ok so l me start by saying I played this evening and told my buddy I was hitting three off the first. Two with my new grip and if I was comfortable one with my old. Needless to say I hit two with the new one and played my third ball. I used my new grip for three shots. Two drives and one iron shot on No 1. Needless to say, I actually shot well (87) and once the new grip went away for good felt much more comfortable. Going to play again tomorrow once and then hopefully next week once I get my new driver.

It shouldn't take long. Maybe they are using the old way to do it.
