All this Posey-bashing comes from straight up fear. The Rockets have cashed in all their chips this year to have hope to get out of the first round... whereas the Hornets are building for a 5-7 year window of championship contention.

Who exactly are you talking about?
Well, it was said on here earlier that you could put Chris Paul and 4 REC basketball players and they could make the playoffs.

The next five to seven years. Paul, Chandler and West continue to develop for the next few years, sprinkle in some Julian Wright (all potential for now, no idea how he'll pan out) and solid free agent signings (Mo Pete, James Posey, Devin Brown) add in some hustle from the 10/11th men (Bowen) and apply expiring contracts (Mike James, Peja, Rasual Butler) and you've got the ability to compete year in and year out.
Where as building around a career loser and injury prone big man, adding a head case who has never been happy and has hinted at retirement on more than one occasion, with some very good youngsters who won't be allowed to touch the ball in crunch time and you've got the Rockets.

i have my fingers crossed
our owners showed they were cheap this past offseason. i worry they'll just let these contracts slide off the books

We get that you don't like the signing. Its fun watching you ignore the preliminary results.

dude you just said the hornets are building for 7 years, and you brought up the signing
how much do you think posey contributes at age 39?

yes the hornets, who had the 2nd best record in the west last year, aren't sucking. WHAT A SHOCK!

Hopefully as much as Robert Horry did.

you think they hornets had an average/bad D last year

Didn't you go to law school? Your reading comprehension isn't so good. The parts are interchangeable. Outside of Paul, West and Chandler, the other parts are interchangeable and generally available in free agency. I'm not so sure what part confuses you. I don't expect the Hornets to be exactly the same in 5-7 years; I do expect Chris Paul to still be here. So from now until 2013-2015, I expect the Hornets to be contenders.

I expect his expired contract will come in handy when signing another free agent

The choices were good/great or average/bad. I do not think the Hornets were a good defensive team, but they weren't that bad either I would say they were average.

That's what you call them.. I call them a top 2 or 3 defensive team last year, who got better defensively, who also has 3 players who can take over games offensively at any time, and lots of depth.

and you're celebrating an interchangeable part (that we pretty much already signed in mopete) like he's a savior
that's why i'm laughing at the jesus posey comments

west is getting old
he needs to be dealt with the expiring contracts for a big man...let's just hope there is a gasol-like fire sale next year

You might want to stay out of the giant Posey thread - apparently having a good defense and adding in another defensive player is a blueprint for disaster because you should have covered all the other holes (such as that elusive "3rd big man" hole).
For the record, I think the Rockets will be very very good this year - barring injury like all teams hope to escape. I don't know how it'll all shake out, but I see 1-4 being some order of the Hornets, Rockets, Lakers and Jazz.

I don't think anybody will argue against that.
