apparently having a good defense and adding in another defensive player is a blueprint for disaster because you should have covered all the other holes (such as that elusive "3rd big man" hole).
the rockets have 3 guys who can create their own shot now: tmac, yao, artest
the hornets have: 1 (paul)

they were top 5 in ppg
I understand this. The Hornets would destroy teams in the 4th quarter because they wouldn't be that tired after the rest Scott would give the starters in the 1st half. No teams would rest their players as much as the Hornets did. A lot of the times, other teams would be gassed against the Hornets in the 4th quarter while the Hornets were not tired at all. That had a lot to do with the ppg IMO.

and you're celebrating an interchangeable part (that we pretty much already signed in mopete) like he's a savior
that's why i'm laughing at the jesus posey comments
The problem is you see everything in black and white but sports have never been so clear cut. Nobody knows for sure how the Finals play out last year if Posey isn't wearing a Celtics uniform. Who knows what makes a team take the step from good to great. Who knows what makes a loser in the 2nd round of the playoffs one year a champion the next year. I know you think you do, but just because you post nonstop doesn't mean any of your views are particularly credible.

this is what we do know: the hornets weaknesses and how they relate to playoff basketball
1. they don't have an offensive post guy
2. they don't have a guy other than paul who can create his own shot
3. our frontcourt is weak against teams with good front lines and has absolutely no depth
you generally need all 3 to win an NBA title. we addressed 0 of these areas this offseason

The Hornets have the best PG in the NBA and he will always find the open man so that they don't have to play 1 on 1 basketball or drive into the teeth of a defense to "create a shot."
Put it another way, the Hornets have 1 heartbeat and the Rockets have 3. We'll see which route shakes out best.

until they focus on paul, his jumper isn't falling, or he has to sit the bench, then the hornets have NO offense
that is why they lost in the playoffs last year

My Objective, somewhat bias, analysis:
West: (Order by Chance)
1. Lakers
2. Hornets (Close Second)
3. Rockets
East:
1. Celtics
2. Detroit
3. Hawks/Cavs

I see 1-4 being some order of the Hornets, Rockets, Lakers and Jazz.
Key words being "some order". I would agree with those being the top four in the west.
