The only thing the conferences care about is money. The title games make lots of money and therefore are going nowhere.

If they would have won they would have the AQ and absolutely moved up in the final rankings

If a team can reap the benefits of winning a conf champ game, they should have to accept the consequences of losing one. Otherwise opt out and stay at 10-2
