then shut it down by saying ahead of time..."I will NOT be answering questions about this silliness."

quote:

“He called me a whiner. He’s probably right,” the Spaniard told Golf.com’s Paul Mahoney at the BMW PGA Championship in England.

"This is not just one thing; this has been going on for a long time," Garcia said. "It's happened in other tournaments. The problem is I'm one of the guys that just has to say something. A lot of people think about it, but don't want to say anything. Tiger can and will beat me a lot of times in tournaments but he's not going to step on top of me. I'm not afraid of him."

"But that’s OK; I don’t need him as a friend. I don’t need him in my life to be happy and that’s fine. It’s as simple as that. Like I have always said, I try to be as truthful as possible. That’s why I think sometimes most of the people love me and some hate me. I understand that but I’m not going to change. That’s what makes me who I am and that’s what makes me happy. And that’s what makes the people I care about happy because they know they can trust me. Tiger doesn’t make a difference to my life. And I know that I don’t make a difference to his life.”

Yeah, it's Tiger's fault that this is still news.

tiger was asked about it in a press conference and gave a one word answer. don't really know how that is letting it play out.

When asked if Tiger felt the need to talk to Sergio to work out their differences, Tiger responded with "No".

How bout Tiger give an answer something like this?

"It's really unfortunate that Sergio feels that I did something to intentionally distract him. Golf is a game with a long history of great players who show respect to one another. I regret the misunderstanding between Sergio and I and hope that we can resolve our differences at our next tournament."

Or he could just be more like Mariano Rivera.

quote:

Yankees closer Mariano Rivera tried Sunday to defuse any fallout from a testy exchange the night before in which his fellow reliever Joba Chamberlain rebuked him in front of fans and reporters.

Mariano Rivera tried Sunday to defuse any fallout from a testy exchange the night before with teammate Joba Chamberlain. Rivera apologized to reporters, about an hour after Chamberlain took responsibility for the incident but played down its significance, saying it did not require an apology on his part.

“We are family here, and it happens,” Rivera said. “It’s something we take care of in house. Unfortunately it happened. We apologize. And we move on.”

Asked what he had to apologize for, Rivera said, “Because it shouldn’t happen.”

This whole "feud" and controversy is all on Sergio. He is the one that constantly and continually brings it up to the media. If Sergio would shut up about it it wouldn't be a news story.

He is the one that does not show any class in regards to this.

You know Everything you're saying that Tiger should do in this situation also applies to Sergio.

But hey, let's blame Tiger

I blame them both, and have stated that. The media keeps asking them both about it. They both can end it by saying the right things, but neither one of them are.

And yes, I compared a spat between "teammates", because one teammate is a huge douche that sucks and the other teammate is the greatest of all time. The douche is 100% in the wrong in their circumstance, yet the GOAT is being very humble and actually apologizing for something that is not his fault.

I did not see the part where he encouraged the media to ask him about it...

He is doing what he does...talks too much and makes too few birdies. Woods is doing what he does, act holier-than-EVERYONE and is a shitty human.

Show me the video where Tiger spits in a cup, or takes off his shoe and tosses it in the crowd, or throwing a club into the lake, or does this not once but twice.

Dude, your butt hurt for Tiger is pretty pathetic. That vid you linked is nothing compared to the crap Sergio pulls. Why does Tiger need to smoothe anything over with that whiney baby?

Because that's what classy people do. It's not about Tiger smoothing anything over, it's about diffusing a non-issue from a press that has nothing interesting to write about.
