Seriously?

# 1 on this years money list w/ far less tournaments than the other guys.

3 Wins already this year.

#1 in World Ranking and has been for quite some time.

14 majors while no other active PGA Tour player has more than 3.

HE IS CLEARLY THE MOST DOMINANT IN HIS SPORT BY ANY OBJECTIVE MEASUREMENT.

However the point of this thread was should he clean up his on course behavoir? I say yes.

I meant of all time. Jack has won 18 against FAR superior competition. No one has won more majors in tennis than Fed.

In golf, and in tennis, people only care about major wins.
Tiger has 0 in 2009.

No doubt that all time its still Jack.

Tiger will most likely pass him. He needs 5 more to pass him.

However, Jack considers the US Am a major. Jack one 2 US AMs. That's where the 20 major number comes from. Using that logic Tiger has 17, as he won the US AM 3 times.

I think he will too. I think Tiger is good for the game and I usually only watch golf when Tiger is playing, but I can't stand his girly reactions when things don't go his way. He comes across as cocky and arrogant IMO.

I've been finding myself only watching just to root against Tiger.

Not me, I watch golf more than any other sport on television.

most of you dont really understand how dominant tiger is. he will go down as the greatest athlete of all time, just like gretzky said. golf today is a completely different game than it was back then. it is extremely difficult to dominate for any period of time. just look at some of the rankings of players that win majors. you dont see this in tennis. the better player wins almost every time in tennis. not golf. some of the things that tiger has done is insane. when he came out on tour, johnny miller said 10 majors and 50 wins and everyone thought he was crazy because golf today cannot be dominated like that. he already has 14 and 68.

if you people knew how difficult it is to win a tour event you could appreciate his domination. he is a genius and that can be said about no other sports figure.

This is the biggest freakin joke statement. When Jack was playing there were about 8 golfers in the world that could and often did beat him. In todays game any one of 200 can step up and win an event.

this has been the subject of much discussion and debate. Jack does not agree w/ this statement.

i assume you meant major tournament with this statement. and if you did, you are wrong. in the 2005 masters, tiger was 4 back of dimarco going into sunday. they played 27 holes on sunday and tiger won.

Thats because he's an arrogant prick. The final straw for me was when he made such a big deal about Casey Martin riding the cart while his leg was rotting off.

Sunday as in the final 18 holes. Tiger was up 3 strokes going into "Sunday," as in the final 18.

And yes I am talking about majors, because that is all that matters in golf. Tiger has 0 in 2009.

this is why it is such a worthless stat. what is the difference between playing 27 holes or 18 holes? he still was behind on the last day and had to sleep on it. also, don't use the "he had more holes to catch up" argument. he was down to bob may with a few holes to go and came back to beat him.

even if Tiger claimed this as a Sunday comeback, that still makes his comeback record in majors pretty terrible. I can't find the stat but i know it's something like 1-36 (including that comeback win).

are you saying that tiger is not good coming from behind? tell that to steve scott and trip kuehne in the us amateur (nicklaus called these majors btw). i think he was like 6 or 7 holes down with 18 to play to both these guys and won.

i don't think you have an argument about Tiger's comebacks, or lack thereof. Tiger had opportunities to win in the first two majors, but failed to deliver. The third major this year..well that wasn't one of his best moments.

he comes from behind a shite load. just because it hasn't been in majors doesn't mean he is a bad closer. he came back from 5 and 4 shots this year alone. this argument when comparing jack and tiger is stupid.

The US Amateur was considered one of the 4 major championships up until the early 60's. When Jack won them in '59 and '61 it was indeed a grand slam tourney.
