That is far too logical to be accepted GHAZI. you should realize when it comes to the hatred for u and the mavs, it is utterly ridiculous that the mavs could win 5 games in a row against terrible teams.

I will admit, @ Memphis is no cakewalk and Philly has some decent athleticism and a good defense.

But still, I will be surprised and disappointed if the Mavs lose any of these 5 games.

If anyone's going to top the Hornets in the SW it will be the Rockets or the Spurs. Give me a break with all this Dallas Mavericks crap. And there's still plenty of basketball to be played.

No reason not to, the Hornets have done nothing over the past month to prove that they are a better team than Dallas right now.

By that account the Rockets should be in 4th place in 2 weeks.

THE WIZARD?!?!?!

COME ON MAN!

lOOK Guys, all I'm saying is the Mavs can easily go 5-0 against lottery teams while the Hornets can easily go 2-3 against the Wizards and FOUR road games against Western playoff teams. FWIW even if they go 3-2 they'd still be "technically" behind the Mavs in the standings (21-11 < 23-12).

ANything unreasonable about that?

That puts the Mavs at 23-12, and the Hornets at 20-12... and the Mavs will never look back.

The Mavs core is very very duable. Dirk, Kidd, Dampier, and Terry rarely miss games due to injury.

no they'll likely be in 1st place after 2 weeks. they've played 5 more road games than the teams ahead of them, once that ratio starts to even out, the hornets and spurs records will drop off a bit.

while the Hornets can easily go 2-3 against the Wizards and FOUR road games against Western playoff teams

Losing AT HOME to the WIZARDS doesnt help your argument.

And this is a given because?

The rockets may have had injury problems in past years, but it sure seems to me like they still manage to make the playoffs? I wonder why?

They have depth. Unlike another team I can think of. What's going to happen to the Mavs if they lose Dirk?

And last time I checked Jason Kidd is nearing 70. Who's to say he won't get some type of injury? Actually, it might help the team.

I'm predicting the Rockets will go 3-2 in their next 5 with road losses to Boston and Atlanta.

I haven't looked at the Spurs schedule yet, but here are my projections for the records of the Hornets, Mavs, and Rockets after January 8th:

Mavs 23-12
Rockets 23-14
Hornets 20-12

Technically Hornets would be 4th in SW.

well their home record is equivalent to the Hornets. and the Hornets lost to the KINGS at home.

The biggest difference is Houston is playing like absolute shite and is still right in the mix. The Hornets are who we thought they were and will play the way they are playing now throughout the year.

You predicted the Mavericks to beat the Hornets in 5 games last year in the playoffs.

You are a shitty prognosticator.

I think the Spurs will go 4-1 in their next 5... v Milwaukee @ Memphis v Philly @ Miami v LAC

So, after January 8th my projection is:

Spurs 24-11
Mavs 23-12
Rockets 23-14
Hornets 20-12

Only thing I can say about that is the Mavs will stay ahead of the Hornets until seasons' end.
