I was just looking through my brackets and 80% of them had ISU to the Sweet 16, and about 50% to the Elite 8.

I switched to Baylor minutes before submitting. Picked GSU immediately. ISU I did not see coming.

Last night, I posted on here that the Big 12 was overrated and my bracket reflected that, except that I chose to ignore my reasoning when it came to Iowa State. Whoops.

It's not very surprising at all if you look at efficiency (a great barometer for predicting final four and championship teams) as neither their Offensive or Defensive efficiency were very great. They also are following in the footsteps of other teams from the Big 6 conferences that had between 6 and 8 wins coming into the Tournament and underperformed against seed expectations (a small but interesting anomaly.)
If you were looking at their team/coach history though, you are right. Each year for the past three years they have exceeded their seeds expectation.
It just depends what statistics you value more.. The stats are there, it's up to you to decipher them
