I hope Poatan can bounce back this fight. Not confident in it, but would love to see him get the win.

He's certainly confident. No excuses tonight.

You know when someone quits in a fight…has nothing to do with consciousness. Obviously if a fighter is unconscious the fight is over. Of course people quit in fights; BUT shouldn’t we expect professional fighters in prize fights (ie paid very well) to not quit when they are put in a bad position? Hell, we can all fight until it gets uncomfortable and stop, but it ain’t worth watching.

hopefully Pereira can finish this fight early or else it's going to be another boring 5 rounds of inbreed, Dagestanian, dry humping main event

I almost kind of hope Poatan loses so he's free to move up to heavyweight. Give him two fights there to establish himself and see what he does against Aspinal.

It’s not the most exciting way to fight but it’s Pereiras job to keep it standing huh?

Why would he move up if he can’t be the champ at this weight division?

Because there's nothing to do in his current division. He's beat the shite out of everyone else, some of them multiple times.
He certainly isn't going back down to MW.

Yeah that doesn’t make sense to me.

Thats fine.
Moving to heavyweight isn't a promotion. It's juat a different weight class. He's not going to just be a gatekeeper in LW and beat up on cans for the rest of his career.
Guess he should just retire then?

I think if he loses tonight nobody is going to care about him moving up. He's 38. A loss tonight just about does it.

Yeah I guess I just don’t understand how he would have a chance at HW if he can’t even be the best at LW. That seems like such a larger jump than going from 125 to 135 or 135 to 145

I understand what your saying. This isn't a novel idea though. People have been calling for him to move to hw for a while until he ran into Ank.
He has the skill and frame to do it.

But he won’t have to cut weight at HW
