One thing that did strike me after his last fight was when he said that he liked how he can beat his opponents without really hurting them. I just wonder how he will fare if he ever gets into a war in there with somebody.

Frank Shamrock said that once too. He developed a killer attitude later.

MMABJJ would have elements of wrestling involved as well IMO along with defending stuff that isn't BJJ with BJJ.

I was talking more along the lines tournament BJJ not equaling MMA BJJ because of the striking on the ground element.

For example-

Alberto Crane would wipe the floor with Kurt Pelegrino in competition bjj, yet Pelegrino tea bagged him in mma.

Kurt Pelegrino's bjj credentials >>> Nate Diaz's bjj credentials, yet Diaz subbed him in mma

Sean Sherk passed Hermes Franca's guard at will in mma, etc.

His bjj credentials were over blown on TUF to begin with just like Matt Hammils wrestling credentials were.

I am glad to see Stann and Cantwell in the UFC. Neither guy is a threat to hold the title, but both can make a good fight.

All good points. I just have a feeling Vinny's BJJ is going to be nightmare for anyone that ends up on the mat with him. We'll see though. And what is up with Hammill trying to rely so heavy on stand up now? That kid is a good training camp away from being a threat in that division IMO. I just never like his game plans.

Main Card Bouts:
-Anderson Silva (23-4;) vs. Thales Leites (14-1)
-Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (17-3) vs. Chuck Liddell (21-6)
-Luiz Cane (9-1) vs. Steve Cantwell (7-1) I hope Cane rips a body part off.
-Cheick Kongo (13-4-1) vs. Antoni Hardonk (8-4)
-Brian Stann (6-1) vs. Krzysztof Soszynski (16-8-1)

Preliminary Bouts:
-Nathan Quarry (10-3) vs. Jason MacDonald (21-11)
-Denis Kang (31-11-1) vs. Xavier Fouka-Pokum (20-9)
-David Loiseau (18-8) vs. Ed Herman (16-7)
-T.J. Grant (13-2) vs. Ryo Chonan (15-9)
-Mark Bocek (6-2) vs. David Bielkheden (13-6)
-Matt Wiman (11-5) vs. Sam Stout (13-5-1)
-Eliot Marshall (7-3) vs. Vinny Magalhaes (6-4)

Ryo Chonan beat An Silva. That is really hard to imagine.

By flying scissor heel hook.

I would say Damon Maia has the best BJJ in MMA. I know Cash would agree with me.

He has the ability to pull a submission out of his arse no doubt. I just feel he will crumble with any quality LHW on top of him that has good gnp and defensive bjj. Add to that his train wreck take down attempts and I don't see him lasting long.

True, but we've also been saying this for 3-4 years now. How old is he? 33? Starting to look like he may never reach his potential.

ahh, no doubt he is garbage here. I guess we will have to see what he looks like with a Mauler on top of him.

Sooner or later you think his camp would suggest it to him for his sake.

To Jason Dent. He is now one of favorite fighters.

I think I might quit watching MMA altogether if had to watch another full season of TUF with another Browning.

Well, I might not be that drastic, the whole world already thinks MMA is a bunch of Neanderthals.

Did you see that Frank Mir just said that Demian Maia is his BJJ coach now?

Mir said he thought he was good at JJ until he started rolling with Maia.

BTW...Kige used a :ikigethis: today in a thread.

Mir brought in Maia and Robert Drysdale and a bunch of other badasses to help him coach during his TUF season. He said he knows people are better than him and he wants to learn from them too.

Also, Dent might be the sloppiest 155lber bodywise of all time.

I've been saying for a week there is no way Browning beats Dent.

Goldie and Rogan throw terms like this around way too much but Maia is truely a world class bjj guy. Top fivish p4p in the world.

No shite. I was thinking that about Browning too, but he's 20 lbs over weight. He fights at 135.

I'm actually surprised they brought Dent in for this season. He's had two fights in the UFC already. I think he might be the only one of the 32 that had a UFC fight.

Isn't he training with Miguel Torres too? Torres is a total bad arse, but the Mir man love for him was off the charts last fight.

He did prove that it is possible to have A-cup man breasts at 155.
