Dang. Who was the black and gold team with all the fans?!!

That was probably from the ULM/Grambling game and there were over 30K at the game i.e. exactly why it makes sense for Tech and ULM to play each other. Both ULM and Grambling made a shitload of money on the game and it was something that everyone in the region could get excited about.

I would love to see what kind of crowd packed into Joe Aillet for the Nicholls or Southeastern game.

I watched the Tech-Hawaii and Tech-Boise games on ESPN2 and they both had pretty decent crowds

I'm more interested in Grambling! Looks like they filled up Malone Stadium.

The crowd was probably about 60 - 40 in favor of ULM.

Tech doesn't play Grambling either. Tech is just too good of a football team to stoop so low as to play anyone else in the region.

Tech is actually trying to sign the papers to open with Grambling in Shreveport next year. Based on the ULM photos, I'm thinking 50,000 at Independence Stadium.

That will actually be a good thing. Glad to see that the powers that be at TECH don't have their heads completely up their collective asses. Now if they would just do the same thing with ULM it would be beneficial for everyone involved.

So using your logic about Tech ULM, then LSU needs to continue the series with Tulane?? I mean Tulane doesn't need the series as bad as LSU does?

Screw that. LSU needs to come to Shreveport to play Tech and ULM. That would benefit all of North Louisiana... twice!

Those two situations are like comparing apples and dumptrucks. LSU makes money at every LSU home game since it is sold out or nearly sold out. LSU would lose money having to play Tulane in the Superdome. LSU can fill their schedule with a quality opponent since they will actually have a shot at a NC if they win.

Neither TECH nor ULM even come close to selling out their respective stadiums except when they are playing each other or in ULM's case Grambling. Neither Tech nor ULM has a snowball's chance in hell of ever being considered a tier 1 program.

I do find it funny that you are obviously trying to compare TECH to LSU and Tulane to ULM. Sorry. It just doesn't work.

What does TECH have to lose? They obviously think they are the superior team and they surely don't make much money playing the powerhouse Nicholls or Southeastern at home. So they play ULM at Joe Aillet, make a shitload of money at the gate and on concessions, nearly sell out their stadium and get a win against an inferior opponent.

Sounds like a no brainer to me. But obviously this hasn't happened so why is that? Is it that TECH is just that arrogant to think they are above playing ULM when the signs clearly point to them not? Or is something that might be called fear? It is really easy to talk a lot of shite about how superior TECH's program is when you have no chance of ever having to back it up on the field against inferior ULM. Just my .02 FWIW.

The bottom line is that it does LSU no good to play ULM, Tech, or Tulane away from Tiger Stadium. The same is true with Tech against ULM. If we ever need the game, we will ask them if they would like to play us.

Wrong. Just plain wrong. None of the numbers support the aforementioned statement.

It just doesn't seem like Tech wants to play ULM in FB so who cares...

Did anyone go to the Tech-ULM basketball game this year? I haven't seen that much excitement at a ULM basketball game in at least 6 years. Just think that game times 2. It would be a electric setting, at ULM or Tech.
