The points and money list this year don't mean much. They are both having good years, and mark Wilson is a great guy, but they won't be there next year.

Yeah I think that's how it works.
One point for every $1,000 in a major this year, two points for every $1,000 in a major next year, one point for every $1,000 in a sanctioned PGA Tour event next year, one point for every $2,000 in the PGA Tournaments against majors, WGCs, etc. next year

I'm probably dating myself, but I thought you got points for Top 10 finishes in Tour events. Now it appears as though based on what you posted that the points are awarded based on money won.

Just a little bit....
Captain Azinger lobbied the PGA to change the selection process to get a stronger team. He wanted people playing well going into the event vs. people who played well last year and racked up alot of points.
