Anyone here ever hit the Callaway Apex irons? I went to Edwin Watts this week to try out some new irons and these things were incredible. VERY long and forgiving, easy to work. Only problem is they're $1,100!

Try GlobalGolf and look for a set in "very good" or better condition. They're good looking/feeling clubs for sure though. I hit the 6 iron at Dick's and liked it a lot.

IIRC the length comes from the lie angle being 1.5 clubs less. So that 8 iron your pumping out there 165 yards is really a 7.5 iron.

He hits it longer than that for sure. He's a club longer than me in irons and about 20 yards longer off the tee.

Yea, I'm sure he is...was just noting that the changes in the loft were massive compared to the standard club.

Ahh that makes sense. I initially went to look at AP2s. I hit several six irons and most of them went 190 but the Callaway went an easy 10 yards longer. The only time it would go 190 is if I hit it really far off the toe. It was pretty crazy
