Which I think is really unfortunate. There is such a good debate to be had here but it'll never take place because people won't look past their biases. You can see it from this thread. Lebron could win the the next 5 rings and it wouldn't matter. I don't like LeBron personally. I cheered against him every year I can remember, even moreso after the Anthony Davis crap, but it is inconceivable to me to not respect his greatness.

Respect his greatness.

But where’s the discussion of his peers-Curry and Durant, what they have to do to pass him?

Oh just win more rings than him and they will be auto #2 all time.

That’s how it works with you nerds.

I have no issue with anyone having that debate. It's a little harder since LeBron is still playing and adding to his legacy but what's wrong with the conversation?

I’d just like to know when winning 4 rings put you out of the discussion.

I’d bet 40% of the “never Lebroners” would argue for someone like Bird or Magic or Wilt as the actual GOAT.

There isn’t a single step of the way in this debate where MOST “never Lebron” folks don’t come off as disingenuous idiots, for multiple reasons.

I mean Curry isn’t far behind and both are better than LeBron at this point, so what would it be?

I don’t think Curry is better than Lebron at this stage in their careers.

And KD is debatable too.

No it’s not, but you edited the same time I posted.

Sorry, but it’s clearer now than ever. As I’ve said it happens to everyone. Durant will be overtaken by Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, then possibly Luka Ja or Zion.

And so on & so on.

There isn’t a single era of professional basketball where every team in the league wouldn’t take Lebron #1 overall in a redraft featuring every player who has ever played

So you think in a hypothetical situation most teams would draft Lebron over Jordan?

He can’t. Way too much negative equity.

I honestly do.

And as Lebron keeps playing I thinks it’s approaching not close status.

This makes no sense.

It isn’t an opinion.

He is either better at basketball and more valuable to a franchise given his output or he isn’t.

It doesn’t make MJ better just because Mike Wilbon and every journalist his age creams themselves over MJ.

It doesn’t make Lebron better simply because many of us millennials think he is.

One is better than the other. One having “negative equity” in today’s world doesn’t matter in the slightest.

I’m a millennial and I don’t think he’s close. Gen Z the 20 year olds might think so but they are a retarded bunch of kids.

Almost every all time great big man goes ahead of Jordan Magic Kobe Durant Bird or LeBron

How out of touch are you?

20 year olds are carrying the water for Lebron?

Not as much as the guys who were 10 when he came on the scene, 13 when he broke into the NBA, 17 when every fricking gay arse sportscaster was saying he’d NEVER win a championship, and 32 while he’s still the best player in the league any given month.

And you saying it’s gen z 20 year olds only supports one of my favorite personal arguments.

The major reason(outside of him actually maybe being the real GOAT) that people think MJ is the GOAT is he came along when the media and pop culture was starting to figure out how to monetize massive hype campaigns.

When Lebron is 50 and the Wilbons are pushed out, every goddamn sports tv personality will be in Lebron’s corner. I hate that just as much as I hate how the old guard now is in MJ’s.

But it’s going to happen. The only difference is y’all make your arguments based on what these idiots in the media say. And the hype. And the nostalgia.

I’ll stay the course like I always have and ignore that shite.

He’s not the best player in the league but keep holding on!!!

Nah, I watched his entire prime and LeBron’s-which was 10-17

It ain’t close, but hold on tight.
