I felt like he resigned with the Pels almost out of loyalty and comfort? He didn't want to go through the ordeal of changing teams?

You don't know how basketball contracts work, do you?

Rhetorical question. I know you don't.

Like 99.9% of high level rookies end up resigning with the original team that drafted them

Guess I'm conflating it with NFL players signing their 2nd deals.

I get that. My initial post wasn't about the money. There are players who take less money to win and make up the difference in endorsements.

Name a player who has turned down over 60 million dollars.

Lebron and Bosh did in Miami. No personal income taxes in Florida also helped

And it largely broke up because they wanted more money. Bosh didn't go to Houston because he wanted more money.

Money has won out 99 times out of 100.

The 2nd NBA contract is structured so that high level players always stay with their team. It is restricted, the current team can offer them an extra year and significantly more money. There is more to it than that having to do with qualifying offers and the like, but essentially, every player ever under the modern CBA re-signs in this situation. To my knowledge, there has never been one to not sign in a similar situation.

Complete apples and oranges.

3rd contract is when you see movement.

Thanks for explaining. Under those circumstance, Davis staying makes a lot more sense.

That being said, are players happy about waiting until their 3rd contract to make a change? Davis will be 28-29 when his contract is up? They get the money but if the franchise isn't fully invested in winning, is that when you say their career was hampered?

I start a thread about a basketball player and all you guys can talk about is Cam? I'm sorry he's taking up so much real estate in your head

The best part about this thread is that the OP is getting destroyed for being dumb but he's also right and no one has even attempted to refute that aspect of the post

I guess the OP can say the same about Matt Ryan...
