Auburn fans still think he's that extremely dominant QB that he was in college. I think he's still a good qb, but he's never going to be elite in the NFL.

Right, and there's nothing wrong with what he is, but I wouldn't pay over 15 mil a year for him. He has to be on a run heavy team with a stout defense.

Rented by Auburn for one year. How dare you say anything bad about him.

No, but he did throw for 4000 yds and rush for 14 touchdowns as a rookie. His first two years had many explosive plays. They threw the ball down the field more, partly because of Chudzinski's offense and partly because of their WR's ability to get more separation back then. Last year was a much more conservative approach, a hallmark of Mike Shula.
The Panthers were a shitshow before Cam, and they went from a bottom 3 offense to a top 10 offense in his rookie season. Cam has room for improvement in some areas but he is not a game managing type of quarterback in the mold of Trent Dilfer or Chad Pennington that just happens to pick up a few first downs with his legs. That's saintard talk.

And you'd let him walk and get who....?
Unless he falls apart, he will get paid. It's not only about what he can do (which yeah 15 mil makes sense) but as we all know it's not easy to get good QB in the NFL. The good ones (almost) never hit the market and college ones are unpredictable.

All Cam had to do last year (most of the time) was to not turn over the ball and put together a couple of good drives a game. The defense was that good.
well to be fair, Cam had to carry this team his rookie season in spite of one of the worst defenses in the league. it was about time his defense showed him some love
