He was drafted by just about any other competent NFL franchise that was stable and could actually coach and groom a young quarterback?

People used to say these same things about David Carr and the Texans. Turns out David Carr just sucked.

Yes, because most of Jamarcus's problems lie within himself.

JR is struggling but yeah saying the receivers are decent is laughable. they may be good in the future but they are overmatched right now. when louis murphy is your best WR you have problems

Lets go back a few years and compare this to Tommy Hodson who, in my opinion, was a better tiger than Jamarcus. He was drafted by an awful New England team and never succeeded in the NFL. Would he have done better with another team? We will never know for sure but my opinion is yes he would have been better. Maybe not a world beater, but better. To say Jamarcus wouldn't have done better with another team is ignorant. I think the real question is how would their careers be different with a successful organization.

Didnt read the entire thread, so I am sure this has been posted already. But there are def problems if he is in his 3rd year as a QB (2nd as starter) and he still needs to have the offensive playbook dumbed down for him. And thats regardless of which team he plays for.

He has all of the physical talent in the world, but doesnt seem to have the brain. As a Tiger fan, I hope he proves me wrong.

I don't understand why he is being instantly labeled as a bust. How long did it take Eli Manning to develop into the QB he is today? People used to bash Eli, but not so much now. JR is only in his second year as the starter.

good point. the concern with JR is his accuracy. if you arent accurate, you will not succeed in the NFL. Eli was labeled weak, wasnt a leader etc etc, but he was never as bad as JR is when it comes to accuracy

Going to be blasted for this, but he equals Matt Ryans success if he is put in the same situation that Matt Ryan was put in last year.

That woulda been kinda tough even in a better environment. Ryan's a really interesting case because of what Jags taught him in their year together at BC.

for the last 7 weeks of the season, he had a higher passer rating than ryan and flacco last year.

Everyone always talks about how bad JR's wr corp is in Oakland yet fails to mention just how good his wr corp was at LSU.

I blame Jamarcus' failure thus far partly to his own fault for not being overly dedicated to the game and putting in the time to stay in shape and all that good stuff.

I put most of the blame on Al Davis thus far. He hired a coach that didn't want to draft Jamarcus, so from the get go, JR wasn't put into a successful learning environment. Then it was a laughing stock of an organization for the next two years of wanting to fire the coach and all that good stuff. Then he doesn't even hire a competent coaching staff to replace the first mistake. You spent that much money in Jamarcus and Al Davis is not going out of his way to protect his investment, get the right coach for him and right quarterbacks coach to groom him. We all knew JR has talent but we also knew JR needed to be in a carefully monitored environment and coached up quite a bit.

you mean like that beautifully orchestrated drive down the field with a minute left at auburn in 2006.
he gets away with so much b/c he's so talented, but he's just so stupid.
throw the damn ball away dumbass.
you can't throw to someone double teamed 30 yards away from the endzone over the middle not near the first down when there's 6 seconds left and no timeouts.
you have to throw the ball in the endzone when there's no time left, not 5 yards before it b/c you saw he was open but forgot there were guys waiting at the goalline for you to do something stupid like that.

Jamarcus would probably out-perform you on a Stanford-Binet

Kid will be a stud; he would be better if he had a better quarterback too.

Why wasn't Russell getting the ball to Zach Miller more last Sunday? That's his go-to guy.
