i know many, and the chips are almost the same. i logged on to see who won and the chips are 7 million to 6 million.
might be a long day. might beat Juanda's record (might have already) for the longest final table.

if a winnner isn't crowned by 2 pm they'll resume tomorrow.
also, more pro's are realizing if they want a chance at more bracelets they need to get them in other events other than hold'em.
Juanda going for his 5th in 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball (Limit)

Congratulations Tony Veckey, Winner of Event 54
It took nearly 11 hours for Tony Veckey to claim the title, but he'll tell you it was worth the effort and the missed flight home to Chicago. Our newest WSOP bracelet winner bested a field of 2,818 to walk away with the hardware and more than $673,000 in first-place money. Today was no piece of cake either, as 28 players returned to battle for the prize. Eliminations moved quickly though, and we were down to 10 players just after the dinner break. Veckey played an aggressive and smart game throughout, raising his opponents and applying pressure whenever possible. His most impressive play, however, may be the hand he didn't play when he laid down pocket kings preflop to an all in raise. In the end, his tactics worked as he bested Jason Wheeler in a hard fought heads-up battle to claim the bracelet.

Another Sick Cooler
A player on the button opened the pot with a raise to 900, and Troy Gibson made the call from the big blind. The flop rolled out and Gibson checked. His opponent made a continuation bet of 1,100 and he called. The turn card was the to pair the board. Gibson checked again, this time calling a bet of 1,200. The river card came the , and it didn't really look like an exciting card, but it sure brought the action. Gibson checked again, and this time his opponent made a real bet, flicking out 6,000 chips. Gibson paused for a moment before moving all in with the covering stack. The other player instantly called, turning over for the top full house. But it was no good. Gibson tabled for the stone-cold four-of-a-kind kings. The table all stood from their chairs, some with their hands over their mouths and faces, and some passing along the story to adjacent tables. Brad Garrett was clutching his chest. "My heart was beating," he said, "and I wasn't even in the hand!"
I would hate to go out of a tournament like that... and no doubt if I had the Aces I would be gone...

Here's a sicko hand from back in the day pre WSOP;

While sitting in this game one night, Addington witnessed one of those amazing hands that gets talked about for years afterwards. They were playing $80/160 limit hold’em, and the flop came A-4-2. Doyle Brunson had three aces, Gilbert Hess of Dallas had three deuces, and the fish in the game, a local contractor, had three fours. The three players capped the betting on the flop, and a deuce fell on the turn. Brunson led out with a bet, but when he got raised and reraised he correctly (and amazingly) deduced that he was beat and mucked his cards. Hess was all set to win the sizeable pot when the case four fell on the river.
The only consolation for Hess was that if that hand had occurred on a night when they were playing no-limit the damage would have been much more severe.
