don't mean to be a dick but I don't want to give out his stuff on a message board without him saying it's cool ya know?

If it was mine I would have no problem giving you the link but his twitter has a pic of him on it and it's not my place. I'm sure he would be cool with me giving the updates so when I see one i'll post it.

Ivey Pushes Over the Century Mark
There was about 5,000 chips in the pot on the flop of 8h-5h-2c. Phil Ivey tossed out a bet of 2,500 from middle position and his opponent on the button raised to 6,000. Ivey then jacked the action back up to 20,000 and his opponent called. The turn brought the Qd and Ivey moved all in, putting the pressure on the other player. After over four minutes under the microscope of the ESPN cameras, members of the media, and that piercing Ivey staredown, the player folded. Ivey is now at 105,000 chips.

Ivey didn't have much of a staredown in my 6 hours of playing with him in the razz event in 08, but he did get a massage the whole time...

Im just guessing Malone is too focused on survival and not playing his game like he does online got to be aggressive.

that hand makes absolutely no sense for the player who folded. 20k in after the flop for ivey and player b doesn't think there is at least another big bet coming on the turn if not all of his chips with 60k left?
How does the Qd change the hand that much? Even if player B has 10 10 of JJ the Q shouldn't affect the hand

probably had a flush draw and didn't want to risk his tournament with one card to come.

Ace of spade. He must have a copy of Barry's book under the table

day 1 us a good day to take advantage of but that whole tournament is about survival. As I said to Acre I had 75k going into dinner break of day 1 in the 07 ME and got knocked out with 15 min left of the day. I played agressive when anti's were brought in which I usually do and it bit me in the arse. The next year I played conservative the entire time and survival poker and was knocked out at the end of day 2 which was a 2 outer suck out for a huge pot. In that tournament the agressive style needs to be saved for the bubble.

but he was ok putting in 20k with basically 1 card to come after the flop? If he hasn't figured out Ivey isn't going to check down a turn after being invested after 11 hours of playing with him he is lost. I don't mind the raised flop but the call is terrible.

Possible Ivey protecting a big pocket pair from straight/flush draws?

Not talking about Ivey's play. regardless of what he had it was ok. The guy who called 14 more and folded to the brick on the turn was pretty bad, especially this early in the tournament. Only 2 hands it would have been ok to peal one off was 67 hearts or 34 hearts.

still frickin shite up.

Another Dilemma
Tournament officials may have another problem on their hands at the conclusion of play here this evening. With 1,109 players surviving Day 1c, and potentially another 1,800-1,900 players surviving Day 1d, that's going to push the total number of players returning for Day 2b close to the 3,000 player mark. With the "capacity" determined to be 2,809 here today, it's going to be interesting (or perhaps a little scary) to see what goes down on Thursday when these players are reseated for Day 2 play. We assume that the massive numbers from yesterday and today, combined with the slower than expected rate of eliminations (due to deeper starting stacks) has contributed to this situation.

all the online qualifiers or people who win/buy their seats early should play on the first 3 days and they wouldnt have this problem with people signing up late.
Posted on 7/7/09 at 2:15 am to PokerChamp21
why'd they increase starting stack?
